Nah, He is one of those United players they get from time to time that get carried by the rest of the team. Butt, P Neville, Gibson, Sharpe, Carrick, Richardson, Bellion, Kleberson, Manucho, Djemba Djemba, Obertan. Put those type of player in any other side and they look extremely average and soon disappear.
Never rated Welbeck, and there is truth in you get picked for England depending on which club you play for.
Not sure about Carrick though, he is a good passer of the ball..
Put down The Sun like Jimmy, Standy W and I and actually watch football and you’d see that Carrick is a class midfield. Do you think Ferguson picks in week-in and week-out for top bantz?! After five years he’s have given up on that joke if that was the case. Easily one of the Top 5 midfielders in the EPL.
TBH my post was just an impression of the girly dig he had at me earlier in the year.
No Phil Neville is no Christiano Ronaldo but I think if you ask any Evertonian they will consider him a great player and adds the sort of metal to a team that I dont think we have had since Cattermole left.
As for the rest :
Nicky Butt : 2002 World Cup – World class performance !
Sharpe – Quality player who unfortunately liked to party a bit too much and got him in trouble with Ferguson.
Carrick – Most underappreciated midfielder in the history of the PL and is a massive player for Man Utd and has been for years!
Bellion, Kleberson, Manucho, Djemba Djemba, Obertan – All these hardly got carried at united they were crap while they were at the club.
Putting Butt’s World Cup performance aside he might have a point on Nicky Butt, Richardson & Gibson.
But I would have both Richardson and Gibson here tomorrow given the choice.
I didn’t see Carrick in Yosser’s original post to be honest… that’s one thing I disagree with.
I think, on his day, Carrick is one of the best centre mids in the Prem.

Special Brew… why the fook is your text size so samll…it’s hard enough understanding you sometimes let alone trying to read it.
No critism from me about Carrick, as said he is good. I’d reserve the work class for the likes of Zidane etc..
Wow, 1 post about football and it causes an actual debate on a forum.
For the record, Carrick is nowhere near world class. So a footballer who operates in midfield can pass a ball and he is world class. Nah. Denny Landzaat was an extremely good passer of the ball but looked out of place in the 2006 long ball up to Heskey squad. If Landzaat was Carrick’s age he would fit better in United’s squad, And neither are world class.
That bracket is held by a handful of players and there are only a couple in this country.(none of them English)
Both Wellbeck and De-Gea ( Also slated on here ) were Utd’s best players tonight in my opinion ! :)
They probably were yes. Although I thought Jones had a corker as well.
Do you not think that Jones’s blatant push in the box was a pen for Madrid ? I would have been most pissed off if that had happened to one of our players and no pen was given ! Jones did a job but he is one big gormless clumsy fucker ! :cheer:
