Standish, you are repeating yourself now, so I will repeat myself. I am sorry for criticising your idol. I just don’t know how you can come out with a bold statement like you did, unless you watch all the games… I could call that talking nonesense. You really do remind me of the ex wife, you are not female by any chance? I haven’t read your profile. As for the edit, whats your point?
Yes, I am repeating myself because you obviously have Martinez issues and assume my response is in defence of my ‘idol’.
It isn’t; it’s in response to you spouting nonsense that Sam Allardyce is pushing Diame out of the club because he’s discovered the player isn’t up to much.
So, I’ll repeat it for a third time: I’m sensitive to people talking nonsense, and your statement…
‘I was wondering how long it would take Fat Sam to work Diame out…I suspect Sam is actively looking to get shut’
…is nonsense.
You’re right, my ‘extensive’ research doesn’t contain a line which states ‘Diame is West Ham’s best player’. Maybe if I Googled, sorry, I mean conducted some more research I might find one.
Whatever, they all allude to a player who has been on the bench because he’s been injured, meaning your line…
‘ I would’ve thought Sam would prefer his best player on the pitch, not either substitute or substituted’
…is again nonsense, and a player, rather than being someone they ‘want to get shut’ of, is regarded as…
‘one of their best players’, ‘in outstanding form before his injury’ whose leaving would have a ‘ drastic effect on the team’ and who lead Sam Allardyce to quote:
‘He’s our player and hopefully come 1 February he will still be our player’
If you want to think of me as female and your ex-wife, and if it really makes you feel better, please do so. I won’t be offended.[/quote]
You took your time…(my ex wife was always late… and went on a bit) I’ll take that as an admission that your bold statement was a little OTT, no need for apologies. Next time you are googling Ian LADYMAN etc try googling “suspect” or failing that learn to read.
…stupidly didn’t play him during the back end of our last season
What?!
I seem to recall us not doing too bad without him?
He didn’t play for a reason, and that’s because the 2 J-Mc’s were putting outstanding performances in and were probably putting more in on the training ground too.
I wasn’t surprised, shocked or upset when he left. We showed he wasn’t a “key” member of our team when we completely turned our season around without him. In truth, I didn’t give a flying f**k when he went.
As for offering him a ridiculously high wage to stay. Why?
He didn’t deserve any sort of pay rise.

You really don’t like it when people disagree with you, do you?

Sorry for taking my time. Work got in the way.
In answer: no, there’s no admission whatsoever. Being ‘The Best’ is completely subjective, but I reckon I could find a quote or two to back it up.
The fact of the matter is though, your ridiculous and totally unsubstantiated claim has been proven to be nonsense.
As for the reading lessons, I feel it’s you that needs them. I’ll even help you with the long words.
Having thought this would be just another run of the mill thread on a past player – its actually turned out to be quite entertaining.
Keeping to the subject in hand however, Diame was always going to end up at one of the top clubs – and as mentioned previously, i think ‘the arsenal way’ is a good step for Diame. The player is a very talented young man. The only regret i have is that we werent able to cash in on him – maybe the initial outlay of a big contract of 40k may have been a good gamble on a transfer return of 7-10 million for him 12 months down the line. It was a gamble though and one i suppose DW wouldn’t entertain.
Diame has been outstanding for west ham so this idea of him beeing ousted by Big Sam is one that i just dont agree with at all. The player had the terms of a release transfer fee added to his contract which wisely allows him to move for a minimal fee. nothing wrong there!!!
Lad at work is a West Spam fan and rates Diame highly. He doesn’t want him to go nor does Sam (according to him)
I rated him in his first season for us, he reminded me of Viera the way he played but he went off the boil for the rest of his time and never really looked interested.
Did here the rumour that cos he wouldn’t sign a new contract Whelan didn’t want him playing. I’ve also heard that said about Alcaraz recently??

If that is true I think Whelan is biting off his nipple to spite his Pecs ;)

I couldn’t agree more, I remember after his first 6 months for us he looked promising but he struggled to keep up that level of performance, only playing in cameo roles is a luxury this club can ill afford. It came as no surprise to me that our season took off when he was dropped, (tho I don’t know whats happened this season) Give me McArthur any day of the week. It’s funny to see people rate him highly, but people are entitled to their opinions and thats what makes these forums entertaining. I can’t see him playing for a top club, but what do I know? Very little according to Miss Walker.

For the record, I agree with everything you’ve said on this post.
Still doesn’t get away from the fact that he’s rated at West Ham and they don’t want him to leave.
