Like it or not but football is a business. It’s no longer like Winstanley Warriors or Ashton Athletic, it’s a business.

As a business they have no obligation to tell us anything. Asda won’t phone me up when people are off sick or they’re out of stock of something. HR issues such as not paying wages doesn’t get discussed on Twitter.

People always say that without fans there’s no club but that isn’t true as COVID showed. TV deals nowadays will keep football going. Perhaps not at lower levels as much, but I suspect that ticket sales are not the highest earner for the majority of clubs.

Of course I want to know the goings on but I’m also fully aware that we will only get told what the club want to tell us and when they want to tell us. The players I expect will have been updated every step of the way.

The problem we have is every Tom Dick and Harry on social media making up stories (usually under fake names) and doing internet searches to put 2 and 2 together to make 12.

Your trying to draw up a comparison with Asda ??
Football club owners are only the custodians of the club in whatever shape name or form. The club will still be here long after both me and the current owners are dead and buried.
Football clubs are the fabric in alot of our towns and cities again bringing people together and not only on a match day. Clubs can tackle an arrangement of day to day problems from kids on the streets, knife crime to elderly health and mental health, loneliness etc, fcuk all like Asda.
We have fans were here 40-50-60 years ago when Jasmi was a child and our children will be here when we’re all gone.

This isn’t an “Asda” boardroom argument were shoppers don’t need to know anything this is about people not been paid and the possibility of are club temp shutting down because that’s all it will be.
Do you not think Asda workers would be entitled to answers if they weren’t paid for a few month?.

You can’t draw comparisons with Asda owners . We are a football club not a shop selling food.
For the club at lower level to work it HAS to involve fans, inform fans, bring them together and build up a relationship with them attracting more and more local kids and not lose them to the greed clubs so communication is paramount to our development. I still remember the Loyal 2000 and it’s took us all these years to build it up to 10k plus on a match day.
Tel Al pointed out about our club and what it means to our community and “building bridges” that’s all good and well but there’s the reality side as well which involves paying bills and explaining why. It’s us he’s asking for £370 before next week so I think I’m fully entitled to know what’s going on.
      Imagine
Give Asda £120 weekly shop the week before then get there the shelves are empty you would need to know wtf is going on

We are the owners, without us the club doesn’t exist without the current owners

      We still exist

      That’s the difference

Up the Tics and pay the fcukin wages

Draw comparisons to any other business. It’s a business.

You’re right about communities, but the fans still have no given right to know everything.

The players and staff potentially effected next time have the right to know what is going on. Or as you said, the Asda workers have the right. The customers don’t.

I appreciate the fans want information and it is of course something much more passionate than 90% of other businesses, but we aren’t entitled to know everything.

When a player is injured or not being picke dthen we have no right to know why. The club sometimes tell us, sometimes they don’t. Their choice to make.

This one is slightly different as the future of the club is something we all want to know, but again apart from “we’re committed” we don’t have a right to know the details of what they plan to do etc etc. We certainly don’t have the right to know if players are paid or not and how much they’re paid.

I’d like the club to be more open, but I completely understand why they aren’t.

I agree we don’t need to know everything, every transfer, why players are not playing, managers decisions, why he’s sold, who and why a player is sent out on loan, but FFS hang on a sec this is abit more than that, this is about the club possibly falling out the League do you not get that ?????.

Considering what the owners said when they arrived and Tel Al putting out a lengthy artical about passionate fans, community, etc this has gone far far beyond any:

            “Why doesn’t Scully play?”

This is about our existence. You talk as though us fans who want to know are poking our noses into their affairs !!FFS get real will ya.

            Let me repeat myself,

Jasmi and Tel Al are nothing more than custodial owners of Wigan Athletic. With a small club like Wigan they need to be open and fair and work along with the fans and when such serious matters arise, be honest and up front no fcuk off into some big white building in Bahrain and shut the door , no cloak n dagger stuff just say it as it is, we’ve a right to know
It’s our fcukin club no there’s!!

If your happy not to know F all while the silence carries on and wages don’t appear and your content to sit back rocking away been fed nothing till the life boats are all gone fine, fill yer boots but there’s a huge number of fans who want to know what’s happening with the club and the players want to know when their getting paid and will staff be paid in 2 weeks.

I’m sorry but your drawing comparisons with large superstore businesses there is non what so ever.
This has gone on for near 9 months on off and the 4th time not one excuse has been given.

I think I’m fully in my right to ask what and when especially I have my email code to renew my season ticket. You renew yours Egg if you don’t need to know what’s happening and bury your head in the sand then if Admin bully boys arrive at the glass door email Tel Al and ask him why he didn’t tell us

Click your heels 3 times and say
“There’s no place like Latics” and it might all just go away

It’s their club because they own it.

The players want to know when they’re getting paid – that’s their PERSONAL AND PRIVATE conversation to have. Same with the staff.

I will give you the information around the future of the club, but aside from “we will continue to own the club and pay the bills” I don’t expect them to tell us anything else and if they do then it’s a bonus.

After Caulkers statement can any of the “give them another chance” brigade now justify their stance. He states wages missed 5 times not 4 !!!. Players fed absolute load of lies. These owners are completely burning our clubs already damaged reputation. How the F### can we ever recruit players in the future.?…..if we still possess one…Liquidity issues my arse!!!….He either doesn’t want to fund us anymore (Choi 2)……or he’s f######## potless…..either way I really think now that we are heading for a 2nd administration. Still no news from Talall….Maloney/Brannigan obviously been censored. F####### shambolic state of affairs………”please no one say”better the devil you know”………these lot need a F%%%%%% exorcism!!!!.

The old saying goes “Good News Travels Fast”, and more often than not that is the case !
So obviously there is no good news, not even a slight glimmer of good news; so we better had prepare for the worst while Adam buries his head in the sand.

I fully support the “refrain from ordering your season ticket brigade”, and I will be following suit until we had a clear future in front of us. If all this gets sorted out, they will have to virtually give season tickets away to retain any confidence with the fan base, regardless who the owners end up being !

                Absolute shambles
