I find it very hard to believe that our own fans want us to get relegated out of one the best leagues in world football, even fighting relegation every year in the prem is massive for “our little” club.
Griff- we’ve never been ‘very good’ at this Premier League lark, as we’ve finished in the bottom half in 5 of our 6 season (presuming we do this year) and have failed twice (could be thrice soon) to reach the 40 point mark.
Jamie-son- I never said I want us to get relegated, I would just embrace the change if we do.
When are people going to get bored of aiming to finish 17th every year? :?
My post wasn’t aimed at you (duke) but there are “fans” on this site who actually WANT us to go down, unbelievable.

Why would i want us to go down, even if we was in the third division i would nt want us to go down, not a big issue really, if we go down we go down, but i would expect us to go back up, if we do its a different matter, when we had nothing i expected us to have a good season, but thats what a fan does , expects the best, if it happens thats a totally different matter. :dance:

Also, you didn’t state a ‘start date’ I was plainly making the point we’ve never actually been ‘very good’. I’m pretty sure not even your whit and intelligence can’t worm your way out of saying we’ve not been very good. For a club of our size maybe, but compared to everyone else? No.

Yes there is, the first few seasons this is actually fun as a supporter, but after the sixth year? Not for me, and judging our attendance figure drop from 05/06/07 to now, I’m not the only one.

Griff – I think your use of the word “now” implied that at some point we did compete in this league. Perhaps in season 1, but even that’s debateable, especially if you consider our performance post the cup final and extend compete to refer to dealings off the pitch.
Wrong. My use of the word now indicated that many people think that we only started to be crap in the premier league when Martinez came along when in reality, as you and even The Dupe correctly pointed out, we’ve never been very good at it.
Dupe – you really don’t see the irony in trying to pull someone up about being witty and spelling it wrong? That’s spelling, by the way – nothing to do with grammar
