If I see a Martinez out banner I will rip it down myself. You forget that Bobby is one of us and we shouldn’t treat him that way. Yes we are struggling, yes I am worried we could get relegated but give him time it was the first game of the season. If you can’t already tell I don’t want him to go.

That was a bit petulant. I don’t need to go and support another team because I support this one.
I will never be ashamed to support Wigan Athletic. I am Wigan born and bred and I am proud to be associated with the team. I have supported them through some pretty bad times over the past 30 odd years. This is nothing to some of the bad times. We will get better and if we don’t I will still be there, proudly wearing my colours – never ashamed of them or of being a Wiganer.
YOU should be ashamed of yourself for posting such a ridiculous comment.

Well elephant off and support someone who never does anything to be ashamed about
Yes i do. Thats my right as a fan. So why dont you elephant off and support someone else if you are so blind. You dont find it the least bit shaming that everyone is still laughing at us and our owner does not care. Even N’Zogbia is walking all over the manager. The club is a joke as a whole. Thats just the truth, nothing else.[/quote]
And people will continue to laugh because people like you continue to react. Just get one with it and support your team.
17 August 2010 at 1:02 pm #42993I was moving house over the weekend & so didn’t get to the game (lucky me!!!) but can I just ask a question that will help me in trying to decide whether Bobby has learnt his lessons from last season?
During the game I was looking on my phone at the line ups & substitutions & it looked like Bobby was making like for like substitutions i.e. right back off, right back on & central midfielder on, central midfielder off, without changing the “system” or formation. Watching the extended highlights later however i thought I saw Rodallega playing through the middle towards the end of the 2nd half
So despite his initial tactics & formation not working in the slightest & his team being 3-0 down at half-time, did Bobby change anything other than like for like personnel changes?17 August 2010 at 11:59 pm #43070From what I recall, he sort of played with 3 at the back in the second half with Rodallega a bit further forward so, nominally, it could have been 3-5-2.
However, I couldn’t work out if that was just Stam pushing on a bit further, and more often, than we are used to and Rodallega could have just been wandering in and out of position.
It was hard to tell, looking – as I was – through my fingers and with one eye shut :(
Oh, and I think the Moses substitution was forced, because he was holding his groin just before he went off.

I would have feigned injury to get off the pitch if I had been playing !! As for formations it looked like organized chaos to me up until me bailing out when the 4th sneaked in between Kirkland and the post !19 August 2010 at 7:34 pm #43278the ‘Martinez out’ banners are being painted as we type
should be out in the coming weeksSounds classy.
