We should be OK Roy once pre-season is over and the players have spent some time playing together. Billy McKay is looking sharp.
17 August 2015 at 3:12 am #144089My views
Looked good going forward first half mainly due to junior & McCann (save for a few misplaced passes in his own half)
Caldwell takes off Junior & McCann early second half (why?)
Nobody up top when we defend a corner resulting in more of their men in the box and nobody up top to clear the ball to so it keeps coming back
Every one of their corners went back stick where it was 2 on 1 and they won every one. Is it just me who saw this?
Grigg is getting the Delort treatment, ran after everything little or no support
We didn’t score again
Doncaster got the ball wide, looked dangerous an whipped in plenty of dangerous balls, we didn’t
Keeper looks good at shot stopping, some great saves
We can’t play football at the back, same as we never have been able to
Is the Jewell way not better than the Martinez way ?Think that’s it, apart from my lad and his mate have both asked why we make them watch Wigan……again….losing young support hand over fist

Why no Flores?
Forgot another
Pre match warm up and shooting at Jussi was as bad as it was in the match

17 August 2015 at 1:06 pm #144094I’d been drinking whiskey all last night and I’m fairly certain I made more sense in my ramblings than you did in 1 sentence.
Noting that your other post last night labelled another poster as ‘mental’.

I also noticed that during half time the classic stand in a circle & knock the ball about whilst someone in the middle tries to block a pass or tackle, was an absolute shambles
I used to coach kids at a primary school who could do that better!!On the match, I though that there were plenty of positives & plenty of negatives, most of which have already been mentioned
I think that “a work in progress” is probably the best way to describe it17 August 2015 at 2:14 pm #144100Shite again. Hardly any goal threat, dodgy defence, hesistant keeper, 33-1 odds on relegation looks a great price.
As low as 2-1 for promotion? The bookies seem to have no fucking idea! Bet Victor still offering 33’s for the drop if you fancy a flutter!
Can I explain how this betting malarkey works Fil?
The bookies odds are based on 46 games, not 2, you also never see skint bookies, so yes they do have fekin clue.
Let’s reserve any serious judgement for when the season is in full swing and GC knows his best starting 11.
Today’s match saw more partnerships building, there was some great link up play in all parts of the pitch. Chances were created, but it just isn’t happening yet. Once GC stops this suicidal at times, short ball from the keeper and gets it punted up field,we will start to win games I’m sure. It’s better to be challenging for seconds in the opposition half of the field, than being closed down in our own third.
Today I was impressed with Jacobs[again], James [best game so far], Kenny, Junior, Power, Perkins and Grigg. The negatives were O’Connell [when is he going to come off his line to collect a corner / cross], Morgan and Barnett.Far too early to right um off and far to early to think they will challenge for promotion.
You said something similar last season to me and I picked up a cool £450 ! Kerching!!We know you loved Bobby and his footballing ethos but it won’t work in League One! If you think 2-1 is a fair price for promotion then you my friend are more deluded than I thought!
It worked for Bobby last time he was in that division!17 August 2015 at 3:09 pm #144107Shite again. Hardly any goal threat, dodgy defence, hesistant keeper, 33-1 odds on relegation looks a great price.

17 August 2015 at 5:42 pm #144127Does that mean a return to the darkside then for you fil. BTW are you still on this “im going to give it 10 games” malarkey before deciding whether you stay or go.

BTW are you still on this “im going to give it 10 games” malarkey before deciding whether you stay or go.Well I have sort of had that decision forced on me as it turns out and will miss the first 6 home games anyway! Any midweek games will also be out due to the other half working nights and so if my maths are correct then a pay per match is more viable than a season ticket! Have I missed anything good so far?
PS- Got a few away days pencilled in! ;)
