If somebody actually said/shouted that then it must be a joke. Nobody with any braincells would make a comment like that seriously. The ONLY reason for anybody making that comment would be if it was said in jest.
You’d like to think so, but he wasn’t joking. Three of us turned and looked at him in unison after he’d said it, and think he then realised what a tw@t he’d sounded.
The worrying thing was, he wasn’t even drunk and was old enough to know better.
Yes I was drunk. :/
Hardly Ale By Rail drunk.
True that10 January 2013 at 12:14 am #99690Well if anyone heard someone in the West stand berating Gomez’s lack of workrate….that was me!!
:angry:10 January 2013 at 1:24 am #99691Something is defo not right in my opinion there as been not much change in the attacking style of the game it is the defensive part of the field that as let us down a lot this season conceding soft goals as been and continues to be the problem not many teams have had to work too hard to score goals against us maybe not having a settled defence for the whole first half of the season could be the problem only two clean sheets out of twenty games is not good enoughtherein lies the essence of the problem
some obvious howlers spring to mind
though we do /should defend as a team (collective responsibility)poor goals return across the team during 1st half campaign; Villa, hopefully, a sign of better things to come during 2nd (Ramis, Boyce)
10 January 2013 at 2:01 am #99694Just look at Chelski tonight at half time 14 shots to Swansea’s 2 and a defensive fook up which reminded me of Lopez against QPR and Swansea go 1 up same for the second happens to good teams as well
11 January 2013 at 5:40 pm #99747Play the first team in the replay, spank them and then play the same team at Macclesfield. We have a strong chance here to reach the 5th round and if the draw is kind who knows what can happen. Look at Portsmouth the other year. Didn’t play a single side ranked above them.Winning becomes a habit (as does losing) which is why I don’t get why we use the tired excuse. I’ve never heard a player in a winning team say he’s tired. Were our players tired in 2002/03 when they played 46 league games and still played in the cup against WBA, City, Fulham and Blackburn? No they weren’t.
The team selection against Bournemouth had just two regular first teamers in it (figs & boyce) with three bench players (stam, Gomez & jones). Very similar to the Bradford team selection.
Look at the first two Capitol Cup games against Forrest & West Ham we had more first teamers in them. That blend of first choice players & fringe players seemed to work as i’d say they are better teams than Bradford and Bournemouth. If you’re trying to bring players on that don’t get a lot of first team action then surely you have to do it in a way that does not dent confidence. Didn’t go to the Bournemouth game at home but got the second half on the radio and i’m sure i heard booing at the full time whistle. That won’t do the players confidence any good, so let’s hope we have 2 or 3 more first teamers in the starting eleven for the replay in order to beat this lot.
We can then play that club in the next round that are a similar size to us?

Yep. Agree with all of that. The booing at full time is a disgrace and does nobody any good.
