All i can say is trust Dave Whelan. He has always sacked managers at the time he feels right. When Mr Whelan thinks it’s time for Roberto to go, don’t you worry he will sack him without thinking twice.
It’s easy for people to run a football club from behind a keyboard, in reality it’s a different world. Get behind the club for god’s sake.

Yet you expect him to keep throwing his millions at it when you can’t be arsed throwing less than £20 a fortnight at it?

I wouldn’t blame if he didn’t put another penny in, but he will.

Daft thing is, I’ve just watched the game on Football First and I have to say I’ve seen us play an awful lot worse.

Thats just it griff its not just £20 every other week,i go to most home games and travel away games and when you look at ticket prices for the away games i.e villa £45 and travel on top of that well i am sorry but the money is staying in my pocket

Griff, the one thing about all this i dont understand is we all know Mr Whelan loves good press and being seen as mr Wigan yet even you must find it strange that he has let things just plod on getting gradually worse under Bob.I will back Mr Whelan to the hilt for what he has achieved and will never call the man.His dream and miracle have been destroyed because he has stayed loyal to a poor manager which after the treatment Ray Mathias recieved i really am uncomfortable with.If you can help me understand and as i have said before we know finances are the problem but why was he so ruthless with previous managers yet if Bobby shot Mr Whelans dog i reckon his job would be safe.
. Whelan has been in charge for what, 15/16 years now? It’s entirely possible he has mellowed and changed his outlook on life and football. Only those who are/were privy to the objectives that Bob has been set will know whether Whelan’s wishes are being carried out. Given Whelan’s normal reluctance to keep quiet, you have to assume he is happy.
…Dave might feel embarrassed or at least uncomfortable with the idea he’d have to go back on all the things he said
Yeah, cos that’s always stopped him in the past, hasn’t it?

Up to you mate, but there’s nothing big, clever or helpful about saying you’re going to stop supporting your team. You certainly won’t get a pat on the back from me for doing it

Apart from maybe Jewell (who left of his own accord) he’s never invested so many positive comments on a manager and basically said he is unsackable.( i.e. he stays if we go down).

I know he said a few months ago he wasn’t scared of sacking Martinez but it would be going against everything he has been saying and make him look a bit foolish.

That’s why I dont think he has any intention of doing it, for whatever reasons he has.

Yes, always had a soft spot for United since I was taken to watch them as a very small kid. Still have.

I have always been a fan of Victoria Principal too, what’s your point?

Whelan will ask Martinez to resign rather than sack him.
