yea but what he has not told us is its male event :woohoo:
Four matches tonight. Two female and two trips to the bar.
1 August 2012 at 9:45 pm #90868Disagree completely.
I’m watching the (day before’s) highlights every night with my five year old son who’s never watched swimming, hockey, archery, rowing etc before and he’s loving it.
It’s sport diversity that people like me wouldn’t usually watch.
When the games were in Athens eight years ago my then six year old son was just the same. Absolutely loved it and became a complete sports nut.
Tonight I’m taking him to see beach volleyball. Can’t wait.
The Olympics are fantastic, yet some folk will whinge about anything.
My lad’s now decided he wants to be a swimmer, or a cyclist, or a rower….1 August 2012 at 11:44 pm #90884Surely if nothing else the Olympics should have something for everyone.Personally I was gripped by the cycling at the weekend , have watched bits of the footy ( men AND women ) and the boxing will just get better and better as it progresses.
Of course if you don’t like sport ….
theres always RL at the weekend

agree with you standish, think the olympics have been great so far and looking forwards to the athletics next week. and while iam at it was watching the hockey last night and the commentator was barry davis who has always been my favourite football commentator, even better than motson, think jonathan pearce is absolutely garbage.

Having lived i the South East for twenty odd years I’ve gotten used to daft prices at sports events. However…£1.50 for a Cadbury’s Twirl and £2 for a Double Decker really takes the biscuit.
As for the Beach Volleyball, it was one of the best sporting occasions I’ve ever been to.
3 August 2012 at 12:00 am #90920Olympics dull…?…Standish spot on ,its all about diversity and hopefully the media saturation will encourage kids to maybe take up sports they have probably never seen close up.The cycling this tea time was hair prickle on the back of the neck stuff…….well was for me anyway …

3 August 2012 at 1:11 am #90925I must admit I never thought I’d be as riveted to watching shooting and canoing (not at the same time you understand – although that WOULD be worth watching) as I was this afternoon
