Anybody else got a letter from Jonathon Jackson saying their seat is not available for purchase next season? [East stand]
My lad has got one today and he sits in middle block quite near the front. The supporters suffering again for the incompetence’s on the pitch, it fekin stinks. :angry:From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!12 May 2015 at 11:00 pm #142125Was there a reason given why it’s not available JR?
12 May 2015 at 11:19 pm #142126Basically it is cost cutting exercise, they will probably save a few bob on staffing and utility costs by not manning both sides of the concourse and stand.
They don’t give a flying fek about what the supporters feel about this move before implementing it.
What happened to the family club, supporters come first, mentality.I’ve been in management for over 35 years and was brought up on the philosophy that if you look after the workers, they will look after you. Involve them in decision making and they are more likely to accept them.
Jonathan Jackson, must have different beliefs.

What a journey!12 May 2015 at 11:26 pm #142127Do you know for sure that’s the reason, John, or just speculation?
I’ve heard nothing about such plans, except to make a “singing section”. There are, or were, no plans to shut any particular areas.
What did the letter actually say?
12 May 2015 at 11:29 pm #142128I don’t understand what you mean JR. If the stand is open to home fans, then surely it will need manning in the stand and concourse, or is it that the lower rows of seats are being ‘netted’ off?
13 May 2015 at 12:35 am #142130Well I sit there and here is what my letter says….
“As a consequence of our relegation to League One, we have looked at ways in which we can ensure that the matchday atmosphere is improved to assist the team to win promotion back to The Championship. One of the ideas is to reduce the number of blocks of seats available to purchase and utilise these areas in different ways.
Unfortunately your current seat is one of those that will not be available to renew. However, we are pleased to offer you any seat of your choice in the stadium ( subject to availability and excluding our executive areas ) at the price of your existing renewal. There are a number of seats in a similar location to your existing seat or you may choose a seat in a different stand at no extra cost.”I can only assume that with my seat being in ES5 Row F that they are planning to maybe net off the first so many rows along the whole stand and utilise that space with advertising and the like! This would shove everyone back and not have the sporadic appearance that it will more than likely have next season! I am of course just summising, either way I am not too fucking happy about it!

Fancy that, you not happy.
Why don’t you offer him a compromise? Tell him he can have it for the last 12 minutes of each game. You know, the time when you’re not using it? ;)
13 May 2015 at 1:14 am #142135There was a worry on here a few weeks ago that the East stand may have been closed altogether or been made for away fans like it once was.
13 May 2015 at 1:30 am #142136Well I don’t think that there will be any seats available directly behind where we did sit and so the seat I have occupied since the move to The East Stand can’t be emulated in my view! I mentioned closing the East Stand and putting us back in the South Stand a while back, let the away fans look sparse and prevent them creating their own atmosphere, I would have probably gone over to The West Stand mind! ( Awaits the “We don’t fuckin want you in our stand” comments! ) At the end of the day there won’t be any central seats as close to the pitch as we were whatever would have happened and so if I can’t get anything very similar then I probably won’t bother! We had a good group of folk around us in The East Stand, where they will opt for fuck knows!

13 May 2015 at 2:00 am #142142Wouldn’t it make more sense to get all the facts before we all go launching ourselves at conclusions? The fact is I have a letter telling me that I can’t have the seat that I have sat in for the last 10 seasons! I will ring in the morning and see what alternatives they have but with fans having until June 19th to keep their seats there may not be much point in ringing! :(

Front five or so rows in East and South are affected as far as I can tell. Only a couple of hundred seats in total. Sounds like you are amongst the unlucky few affected. Can’t believe they have targeted you deliberately. But you never know! ;)
