The original takeover of my beloved club (which I have supported since 1972) from Mr Whelan went through with no problems, however the same guy/company IEC then contacted the admin team to ask, what would the state of play be IF he was to place Latics in to administration……why didn’t Begbies Traynor contact the EFL to start alarm bells ringing….did they not have a duty of care etc……or were they actually thinking…..”hey up lads we can line our own pockets here…..”
Can the question please be asked, if they had prior knowledge of the club going in to administration, are they not ethically bound to report financially illegal moves…..
Unfortunately they did notify the EFL beforehand, they had too. The EFL were under a legal obligation not to divulge that information any further, no matter how much they wanted to

Doesn’t make it right though, the whole situation from start…..to where we are now stinks, i really do hope questions are going to be asked once this charade is all over!
Very sad state of affairs. JJ was only told at his weekly meeting, the day before. The meeting was put off til late in the day, Yeung then stated at the start of the meeting that the agenda had changed to a 1 item agenda, the administration of WAFC. It was put to the one sided vote, put through and in the morning walked in the admins.
As has been said, Yeung asked Begbies BEFORE he and NLF actually took it over in June.
STINKS
The sale price was well over £3m at the start. Sadly we’ve been pillaged to the point where there’s nothing left.
They wanted to liquidate us don’t forget.
I don’t believe they ever lost the 40 mill. I just think it was laundered from one company to the other and the liquidation of the club was their way of removing the evidence.
Will never understand why the EFL did not take their time look at the full facts before implementing the points deduction. It seemed like they could not wait to drop us in it.
They showed the efl ID and that they had the money. That is all they wanted. How they run the club isn’t for the efl to decide, but perhaps it should be.
As the points deduction tribunal basically agreed to with the deduction.
