i said the same as most of you on saturday but then realised that Boyce does more running than Figs might do on the oposite side,Figs is also covered by Jean B whereas Boyce is basically on his own, ie Baines and Pinnar time and time again running at him, hes 33 and prob in his last top flight season but he still puts a shift in, its just getting harder without any help.

Boyce will do more running that Figueroa because Figueroa is playing a centre half whilst Boyce is wingback. If you want to compare anyone with Boyce, it’s Beausejour you need to be looking at.

Not sure why the knives are suddenly out for Boyce. Anyone would think he was 40 not 33 years old. Our most consistent performer bar none and have watched him have a fair few good games so far this season. Figueroa on the other hand has looked poor at times and is constantly caught out of position. Nearly every goal is scored on his side or from his poor play. And if he did look tired on Saturday he wasn’t on his own!

To be fair he is just a defender, he has never been much good going forward his crossing and shooting are average at best. That is probably why he playing for us though! I think Martinez is asking to much of him but do we have anybody better in that position with the system we play? Stam is better going forward but cant defend and Myachi doesnt really look strong enough. So Boyce it is, so lets get behind the feller.

Yes it was noticed . as I said earlier he was near Evertons corner flag and the ball was near ours but seriously as someone else pointed out age is not on his side and it is showing and other clubs scouts will notice this also

I think it is fairly apparent that he is starting to struggle playing the wing back role on a regular basis. I would like to see some sort of rotation and as not many seem to rate Stam ( I do actually ) I am not sure what RM’s other options are! This may need some attention come the January transfer window !

omg he has one bad game in 6 years and you lot are on his case i suppose you had to pick on someone as gomez was not playing typical from people who probaly pick there games

Stam might be in line for some more game time…

But if he is I would not have liked it to have been against Everton they would have torn him a new arse hole.

You could always play Stam for Boyce after 60 minutes when he’s run is course or play Stam in front of Boyce ,them he cam provide some help when the second half onslaught from the opposition begins

33 year old footballer in ‘not as fit as a 21 year old’ shocker.

In other news, ‘World is round’, ‘Jesus to be crucified next Friday’ and ‘cockneylaticforum taken over by gang of mongo’s ‘

Nevermind Boycie, he does and always has given his all, if he had the same attitude as some of our ‘fans’, for one he probably wouldn’t turn up at all, or if he did he’d just whinge about how shit everything was.

Must have fuck all else to worry about some folks on here.

Nobody is saying he is shit or playing badly ! It is evident that he is struggling in the latter part of games and if he is asked to do the same week in week out then eventually he will injure himself ! There is more to the game these days than just simply giving your all !

You can’t play anyone in front of Boyce because under the current formation there is nobody in front of Boyce other than Kone, Di Santo and Maloney – and I certainly don’t fancy dropping any of those three in favour of Stam.

Good point but then who misses out when Alcaraz is back either Figgy or Ramis though Ramis could fill the Boyce roll I suppose

As if you needed to ask the question !

Ramis in for Boyce ?? FFS, have you lost your marbles ?

Ramis still slower than a week in Majorca mid-winter. Comfortable on the ball he may be, but without it, looks vulnerable in many ways (big time)

I did read recently one particular stat; namely, Boyce runs further OR quicker (short distance) than many another Prem player. Don’t think ‘the old dog’ is done yet.

Third time you’ve used that metaphor…(And it wasn’t yours in the first instance!!)

I think Boyce will do for another season.
