Wrong again Mutty, you really should do a bit more homework before spouting off.
Below is a report from a 2010 Carling Cup 4th round match against a team about 180 miles away. It was a midweek fixture so its doubtful they brought any more than a couple of hundred.

      Oh contraire:

      http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wigan-2-0-swansea-mauro-boselli-3349669

“There was enough life in the Swansea side to keep their 4,500 fans happy, with Darren Pratley shining in particular and looking potential Premier League class as he exploted the wide-open space.”

There was also a report in the guardian of a delayed kick off due to an accident on the M6 which delayed the Swansea fans and gave fear to a crush at the turnstiles – not something that would happen with only a couple of hundred.

My maths puts that at approx. 7000 home fans.

Sorry to rain on your parade again, but I get my ducks in a row before I state something as “fact”. I’ve been telling Bullshit this for ages.
Very unlikely there would have been 4500 Swansea fans there, but even if it were true you are still wrong with your original post as the attendance was well in to five figures.
Do your homework son before commenting, it might just stop you looking like a complete twat instead of just a partial one.
Your failing memory versus a newspaper report taken from that night in question – no real choice there. And 11,700 is hardly comfortably into double figures. And it wasn’t on TV.

But I will accept that over 60 years ago at another ground, the Latics got a five-figure crowd for a home cup game. Similarly the rugby got nearly 50,000 on Central Park many moons ago too. The fact still remains that its a bloody long time since the Wigan public turned up in large numbers at the DW for any sporting fixture not covered by a Season Ticket.

      Twat.
Clutch as straws all you like Mutty, you have been well and truly proved wrong, just admit your failings and move on lad.

Mutty is spot on, at The DW neither side has attracted big crowds for cup games or playoff games. My personal opinion on why is because Wiganers are tighter than a submarine door and won’t pay for games outside their ST especially if it’s on TV.

Mutty is also incorrect in that yes many moons ago Latics got big crowds as did Wigan rugby.

Now move on and grow up. Neither side has as many fans as it should but who really gives one.
