Looks a nice place, UNESCO world heritage site and like you say close to Porto and Braga.

The clubs that finish this stage in third or fourth position in their group are eliminated. The 24 teams that qualify are joined with 8 teams from the Champions League who finished at the 3rd position in the CL group.
The draw for the 2nd round takes the following rules into account:
a) Clubs from the same association must not be drawn against each other,
b) The 12 group-winners and the 4 best third-ranked teams in the Champions League group stage are drawn against the 12 group runners-up and the remaining third-ranked teams in the Champions League group stage,
c) The winners and runners-up of the same group cannot be drawn against each other,
d) Group-winners and the 4 best third-ranked in the Champions League group stage play the return leg at home.uefa official pots.pot 1 onleft,2 on right.3 on left bottom,4 on right we are in pot 4.

There are only 7 teams definitely through yet – the other places are made up from teams that have come through the qualifying rounds or been eliminated from the Champions League qualifying round – both of which are a long way off yet.

these are the group stage pots the teams will be placed in if they qualify.
At this stage i’d take:- Stuttgart/Bordeaux/Seville
Brugge/Sparta Prague/Plzen
Saint-Étienne/Betis/SociedadObviously dependant on teams from the same country not being able to play each other. We need to keep away from all the ex Russian/Yugoslav places and I’m not arsed about Italy
It would be just my luck if we get VFB Stuttgart as it’s one of only 3 overseas grounds I’ve already done (the other 2 being Hajduk Split and a non league Austrian team I can’t remember the name of but the standard of which turned out to be like watching Hindley Celtic !)

I’d certainly mingle well with the locals and be ok until I opened my trap, but I dread to think what reaction a couple of hundred wiganers on the lash in Palermo would get, arse stabbing a plenty, and not the George Michael kind!

Amazingly, I have never seen the Godfather, but I have seen the Sopranos start to finish twice, so I know exactly where you’re coming from.

Great minds and all that…..I’m a total sopranos addict, I can’t remember how many times I’ve seen them, though I do remember watching it from start to finish within about 10 days, and feeling a terrible sense of loss at the end, I was genuinely in mourning and quite depressed, superb television, probably the best series I’ll ever see.
And I did get your post, it just wasn’t that clever…..whattayagonnado……..fogedabowdit
