To be fair, we don’t need to do prepare for it at all, especially by signing players that wouldn’t normally be needed in the regular season.
We could send the kids into Europe and effectively spew it and get knocked out in the first qualifying round we play in. I have it on good authority that this is what Stoke tried to do the other year but f***** it up by keeping winning games!

Its a funny one, this.
All being well we will stay up and the added fact of European football can be useful in attracting decent signings, I mean of the quality of Kone, for example. It may also help us keep hold of the likes of McCarthy as well. It could be the season where we do move up to the much feted ‘next level’, by having a bigger and better squad.
But if we were to go down, I think it would be all about priorities. We could really go for the europa league whilst also facing the 46 league games that the championship throws up. But if we were to do well in Europe, we could end up playing 60 games or more! We could also find ourselves struggling in the lower part of the table, beating a fair few smaller/average teams in Europa league, before coming undone against a better quality side who had started off the season in the Champions league.
But would we intentionally try and get knocked out of Europe? Im not so sure.

No-one is saying they don’t want us to play in Europe, we are merely discussing/debating (look it up) its viability. So, come on Brains Trust, how do you propose we finance this European adventure?
