When Martinez first arrived we had trouble scoring & a crap defence,slowly he as rectified the goal scoring dept,but failed miserably with the defence hence our relegation,like previous posters have said before, the cup win was fantastic but the league form for quite a while especially at home as been shocking,time for a change for him & us.
Should the defensive coach not take some responsibility for the many gaffs made by our defenders over the past 4-5 seasons?

Come on!!! What a way to absolve Bobby of any blame.
Bobby appointed him & as a coach he will have instructed the players to do what Bobby told him to instruct them to do.
As for not playing at the top level. So what? Neither did Bobby or any of the other coaches. Come to think of it neither did Wenger or Mourinho. Bobby Charlton on the other hand was one of the best players Englane ever produced but was absolute shite as a managerIt is a far worst defence then the one quazie bruce had. B)
Told by a very reliable source at match today that a deal has been done with Everton for Bobby, compensation has been paid and accepted. Jones is said to be taking over.
I am disappointed as I thought that if Bobby went we would replace with someone fresh, hope this wrong but I fear it isn’t . Lets just hope that Jonesy has some new ideas.

When bobby does go, after relegating us with calamity Caldwell, will he be back to take McCarthy, Maloney, Mcmanaman etc with him ‘due to his deep rooted love of Wigan athletic’? No doubt there will be some diamond excuses for him on here the next few weeks. Blaming the defensive coach is like blaming the postman cos your tax rebate is three months late.

I think we can allow Sir Alex a few mistakes eh ! ;)
. Jones is said to be taking over. .If Bobby does leave I really feckin hope that the above isn’t the case. If Bobby goes its gonna be hard enough to keep old & attract new players but appointing his little heard of no. 2 is just gonna send out even more if the wrong type of signals to the outside world
I hope Whelan has learnt his lesson from giving other assistants (Greenall & Hutchings) the main jobHe won us the FA cup which I dearly thank but all managers are held responsible for were their club end up at the end of a season.
He should have the decency to give us one more season to rectify the feck up and announced it like Jewell did before the Sheff Utd game.And please no more blame on injuries , if the squad isn’t strong enough after 4 years then he is to blame for the quality of that.
Wigan , Europe league going for the championship and being loved by the supporters or Everton no Europe no chance of the league and the supporters hating him if things go wrong . Think bobby before you make the biggest mistake of your career. :(
