Oh dear donny
14 October 2017 at 2:45 am #162542Chorley at home would be a good one for the old timers like me if they overcome Boston United.
Get to see your local club in action then ;)
I have only been on Victory Park once for a match not involving Latics. It was an FA Cup match and I nearly got my head kicked in when I cheered when the opposition equalised. I was about 12 at the time so my Dad protected me and after a clip around the earhole from my Dad we moved somewhere else on the ground.
A few weeks after he took me to my one and only Egg match, Orrell V London Scotttish, by eck that was shite, the highlight being the half time entertainment of half a dozen pissed up Jocks kicking a Party 7 can over the sticks.
Club rugby union is awful. I’m a big union fan but only the internationals.

Surely horc we want Boston our big rivals at one time hated the fookers with a passion. I still want Fylde away personally.
I’m with you on this one Ste.
Go past their new ground on a regular basis and it looks to be a tidy little spot and the Tics men would fill it !14 October 2017 at 3:42 pm #162547An away match at a ground I’ve never been to before. Whether it’s local or not.

14 October 2017 at 10:39 pm #162550Very ancient …..
About 71 ? We played at Boston in the FA Trophy won 1-0 Lee Koo goal ……I went on the coach, having found a pound note in the ‘backs’ behind our street ( riches beyond the dreams of avarice)
Coach fare was billed as “19 shillings or 95 new pence “……..that dates it a bit !
Looked it up 6th Feb 1971……I were 12 !
14 October 2017 at 10:52 pm #162552Remember Boston being really pissed off coz we always got the NPL berth to try for election to the league.
14 October 2017 at 11:45 pm #162558Yes Zeb, I remember that too. I was still at college and paper round earned me some pocket money. My Dad helped me that Saturday morning before catching an Unsworth’s coach about 8. Geoff Davies was injured and Lee Koo played. I think we beat Stafford in 1st round then Boston away. I thought Wembley here we come. Hillingdon Borough, who are they? Oh bugger!

There’s a few non league clubs from Essex way still in it, hope we don’t draw one of them!
Truro’s a fair trek as well, but could always stop off in Newquay for a weekend :cheer:Roll on Monday.

WoW, as a kid I loved Lee Koo !
When we played footy and had to choose who we were, I was either Gordon Milne or Lee Koo ( and latterly, Johnny Rogers ). But Lee Koo reminded me of Kwai Chang Caine, the principal character of the Kung Fu series on TV; and was a cult hero. Loved the scene where he went to America and in this saloon a brawny type cowboy tried to pick a fight with him;but couldn’t land a punch. Long live Lee Koo and Kung Foo ! It was great growing up in the sixties and seventies !15 October 2017 at 2:52 am #162573Yes indeed it was !
Apparently Lee. Koo was from Liverpool and his Mum and Dad ran a Chinese chippy…..stereotypical but I believe true nonetheless15 October 2017 at 2:56 am #162574Yes indeed it was !

Harry Kewells team come to town in not the best of form. Surely a win, wouldn’t you think. Won one of last six, and may even bring two coaches
