Any chance you could all your rants on one thread then I can just ignore the fecking lot of them

Instead of ignoring them offer a counter opinion, all we ever tend to hear from martinez supporters when he is being slated is – change the record, darkside, disloyal, over reaction and personal insults to those that dont fit your profile.

Please take this opportunity to tell those doubters why they should change their opinion and why they should support martinez, while i realise thirty4 rarely has any opinions it an open invitation to everyone who is pro martinez.
Good point there and the apologists just come out with the same crap over and over and over again. SO COME ON 33 TELL ME IN YOUR WISDOM WHY MARTINEZ IS THE MAN WHO WE SHOULD STICK WITH?. don’t let sentiment and misty eyed nostalgia get in the way of your answer as well
Just in case you missed it…..

      I’ll answer that one pal if I may;

      1) Martinez is recognised by all the “football people” in this country including owd purple nose, as being the most knowledgeable, exciting, determined young manager around. There is no doubt that he will manage a big European club at some point, maybe a top national team.

      2) Martinez tries to get his teams playing football as it should be played and at times we have witnessed the most attractive football seen by a Wigan Athletic team. OK we get heart palpitations when the defenders are knocking it around like Barcelona and getting caught out, but its a bit better than the John Filan punt up the wing for Lee McCulloch to head on to nobody, or it go straight into touch, remember the good old days?

3)He loves Wigan Athletic and you can see that in his every move and word. Call it sentiment, call it old pals act, whatever but he’s not some prima dona like Bruce who tells you he loves the club then feks off as soon as a bigger club with bigger spending power comes along. Shirking the challenge I’ll label it, frightened of rolling his sleeves up and getting on with it. Never making excuses of having to lose your best players or not being able to afford the £10m striker we all want.

      4) He has kept us in the prem for two seasons and for the “stalwarts” amongst us, that is a fekin brilliant achievement last day win or not he did it. How proud did you feel when the players and staff were throwing bobby in the air at the Brit and DW being showered in champers. It makes me shiver thinking about it, because I love my team and I’m proud of what they have achieved and still achieving.

      5) I and many others have seen a big improvement in the teams performance since the start of the season. Trudging off the DW after drawing against Chelsea and feeling disappointed is progress with a capital “P”. OK we’ve also lost games we should have won on possession and general play, but I’m not one of those fans who think we have a god given right to beat the likes of Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, Bolton,Fulham etc. Apart from Swansea these are all teams who have graced the top flight for many, many years. If you actually expect that we should turn these teams over, the your as arrogant as the Liverpool and Chelsea fans who think they should turn little Wigan over every time they play us.

      6) and lastly cos I’m boring misell now,.we are not in a disastrous position in the league. I honestly think, even after the Sunderland defeat that we are playing well enough to get to a comfortable mid table position. It has to be said and even the darkest of the darksiders must agree, that lady luck has shat on us this season. Big, big decisions have gone against us and cost us the points that would put us comfortably mid table.
Bringing somebody else in at this stage would definitely get us relegated. It would take months for a manager to shape a team and tactics so why risk it.

Now that’s my reasons for not wanting to join this “Martinez out” brigade.

Please don’t copy and paste this in a response with red highlighted comments under each of the 6 paragraphs. You asked for a reply to your question and you’ve had one, end of, next topic please.

And this is why we are 2nd from bottom with the worst goal difference, only one win at home and scored less goals than Leyland Motors and they don’t even have a team any more !! HELLO welcome to the real World !! Or are we not worthy and do you look forward to the Goole Gooligans again !!

I have quoted just one thing, when an argument like yours is flawed, it seems that you have dismissed any ongoing debate with that one paragraph.

I am glad you answered my request for reasons to continuing supporting martinez, I only wish the person I aimed it at would have done so, I am afraid though not one of your points has any real factual basis.

I too trudged off the DW dissapointed we had not beaten chelsea or indeed liverpool for that matter, but I have also trudged off the DW on many more occasions in the last 3 seasons when the side have been woeful beyond belief, as I said in another post I support Martinez in general but with reservations, but I am finding it harder to continue doing so, and was hoping someone could guide me back onto the path of positivity and I am afraid you havent done so.

Oh I’ve made a mistake then bobby hasn’t kept us up for 2 seasons, those kind words said by other managers are a figment of my imagination.

If you believe jr that one manager would not come and say nice things about another manager then it is you who is the numpty. Especially when the above mentioned manager has gifted the other managers team with a welcome 3 points

If you had read my post proper you would have noticed that I actually don’t think we will get relegated for the very reasons I detailed in my post. We are not exactly marooned in 20th place are we then mossy. The likes of the Sunderlands and Derbys of the world, two of the massive clubs with loads of history, have been relegated on laughable points totals.

I think you should do some research like you do with nags pal,the season doesn’t end first week in January. It’s like backing backing a favourite and throwing your ticket away cos its sat at the back 4 furlongs from home.

I have not seen any comments or constructive debate in this thread from any of the Martinez out brigade, that has convinced me or anyone that he should throw the towel in now.

If you can, please let us know gang, what the club should do now, who they seriously should bring in with respect to manager and players, what tactics we should adopt etc etc., that will GUARANTEE us progressing more than we will with Martinez. :woohoo:

I’m sorry but that statement is the most nieve thing I’ve ever read. Managers don’t gift points believe me, for example Bobby really thought that team could have beat Swindon yesterday, it wasn’t just a case of gifting Swindon a 4th round place. SAF thought the team he put out against Blackburn at OT could have easily beaten them.

I have read many articles written by managers giving rave reviews about Bobby as a manager and coach having undertaken coaching sessions at FA Schools of excellence with him. I’m not just talking about what a manager says about the opposition manager on MOTD, after his team has just beaten theirs.

I am so glad I have joined the ranks of “first class numpty” so early in my participating on this forum, I must now strive to attain the status of mega-numpty, something I have become aware of in my couple of years reading your crap on this board.

To answer you, Wigan Athletic have stayed in the premiership inspite of much of what this manager has done not because of it, and as I said before I have always given him my full support and still hope he can bring us success.

The other thing you claim about other managers singing his praises is rubbish, the whole of football is so wrapped up in its own importance and we know best attitude, they all top to bottom look down on anyone, owners, chairmen, presenters and fans who have not played the game they treat us all with distane and contemptif we dare to challenge anything in their little insular world, and fools like you quote their opinions when it suits your cause.
These managers singing martinezs praises, are these the same managers who give 100% support to steve keane, or did do with roy keene, avram grant, gianfranco zola, tony mowbary, roberto di matteo to name a few, and I have only picked the ones who “other managers” heaped praise on as well, speaks volumes of them doesn’t it.

If you have any other reasons for your support of the manager, feel free to share them with the board and try not to personalise it with insults its not very clever in either written or smiley faces form.
