It’s a blow, that.
But I think we can get by. Only thing is, I’d sooner Edman come in that play N’Zogbia there. Because if he goes back to left back, it also affects our midfield ‘width’.
An opportunity for Edman, who is as good a professional as we have got.
Couldn’t believe it yesterday when Figgy got done. Edman has been bench warming all season and yesterday….no signs of.
Thought Thomas, Charlie, Hugo and Scotland were class above the rest on show, although I was quite impressed with Fletcher for them he looked a real handful and was chasing lost causes in the 90th minute. The boy Eagles has not been getting in the starting 11 this season and yet he too looks the biz.

What a journey!Just saw the highlights, and although it didn’t matter yesterday, my thoughts at Fletcher’s goal were that we do lack that kind of goalgrabber. I mean someone who steals in at the back post.
From what I’ve seen of Eagles, he does have some ability.
The Hull game aside, I’m very pleased with how we are shaping up. Pompey away will be a tough one (aren’t they all?) but if we can get the points there, and why can’t we? We can then go into the Fulham game high on confidence and looking for a further 3 points.
Despite what Steve Bruce might think, Sunderland do not have a better team than us, and I think that as long as we keep our composure, this team can really push on.

Have to disagree with what you say about Eagles… He is not very good. And neither is scotland. I think we should be looking for 3 points Vs Fulham anyway, Regardless of confidence.

I DID say injury aside JayT… He is possibly the one thing we need, I know Thomas n Diame are Ok.. Noticed on a post earler that someone said they were aother class to what they have seen at Wigan before… But they are nowhere near half as good as Cattermole

I honestly think the rumours made about Cattermole’s unrest was all about him being outshone in training by HT during the weeks leading up to his departure. I also believe Diame will be better than Palacious, got the trickery plus a great shot on him and an eye for the killer pass. I wouldn’t be suprised if Mark Hughes doesn’t come for him in January.
Whoever says HT and MD are just OK must be on another planet. They have already took Lampard and Essian apart, stood toe to toe with City’s million dollar maestros and helped smash Burnleys home record yesterday, a feat that the likes of Man U and Everton midfield have failed to do. :roll:

Have you been drinking Sir? Rumours about Cattermole’s unrest are probably just that, rumours. To say that Thomas is a better player that Cattermole is just LUDICROUS(Are you actually having a laugh?). Cattermole absolutely SH1TS all over Thomas.
Palacious was one of the best players to grace a Wigan in like…forever. Totenham got a bargain at 12million.
I think your just bitter that Wigan sold Palacious and Cattermole, that’s Whelan for you.
Just like saying Scotland is better than Heskey, if they were playing together this year everybody would pick Heskey over him. If Palacious was here, you’d pick him over Diame, if Cattermole was here you’d pick him over Thomas. Your just fcked off that they’ve been sold and are trying to big up these players to make yourself feel better.
