And I have to disagree with you. Thomas is far the better player than Cattermole and there’s more to come. I honestly think the rumours made about Cattermole’s unrest was all about him being outshone in training by HT during the weeks leading up to his departure. I also believe Diame will be better than Palacious, got the trickery plus a great shot on him and an eye for the killer pass. I wouldn’t be suprised if Mark Hughes doesn’t come for him in January.
Whoever says HT and MD are just OK must be on another planet. They have already took Lampard and Essian apart, stood toe to toe with City’s million dollar maestros and helped smash Burnleys home record yesterday, a feat that the likes of Man U and Everton midfield have failed to do. :roll:

Palacious was one of the best players to grace a Wigan in like…forever. Totenham got a bargain at 12million.

If Palacious was here, you’d pick him over Diame, if Cattermole was here you’d pick him over Thomas. That’s spot on. Thomas is the ‘sit-in’ player, the link from defence to midfield, and so he’s the Cattermole replacement. And how. Very solid, great battler. If he has one slight fault, it’s his distribution at times. Maybe needs to look for the shorter ball rather than a long pass, at times. (All these ‘top’ players, I.E. Lampard, Barry, etc. They build a career on 10 yard passes, don’t they? Have you noticed that?)
Diame? Fantastic. I thought Palacios was good. Well, this lad is even better. I’m dreading January, as I can see a whole host of clubs sniffing after him. One of these days he’s going to score an absolute belter, as well. What did he cost? Was it about 1.5 million in the deal with Amaya? What is it with the rose coloured spectacle brigade when Cattermole is mentioned. With what I have seen of HT and MD so far, they both look better than Cattermole, and less of a liability also.
As for Palacios he only started to perform for us properley a couple of weeks before the transfer window opened. A decent player yes, but we only saw glimpses of his true potential.
Heskey is not only better than Scotland, he is the best centre forward we have ever had.
I never thought I would say this, after his early form, but Rodalegga is starting to look the part and may well, given time take that acolade from Ivanhoe.Cattermole was a good player, but the game could pass him by.
In glimpses, he looked a potential England player, but it’s consistency that’s the question.
I certainly think that Thomas and Diame are a good pairing.
Parakeet is the only one who actually speaks sense here, you men cannot seriously say that them 2 are better than Wilson and cattermole, Parakeet is right that Palacious was undoubtably the best player we have seen here, and the same could be said for Cattermole, You might like HT and MD but they are still nothing compared to WP and LC, Not saying they wont be but for now, not even close
