In other words, the game has been called off because Wigan Athletic have told them they have to call it off.

Exactly and good news for us really. Still be watering pitch on Saturday.

You really are bitter men some of you.

          From Wigan World

Explaining the situation, Wigan Warriors chairman, Ian Lenagan, said: “With the inclement weather over the last day resulting in intermittent standing water on the pitch and the further forecasted bad weather over the next 24 hours, the DW Stadium pitch simply cannot sustain two games this weekend.

“With Wigan Athletic’s season at such a critical stage and after detailed discussions between myself and Wigan Athletic chairman, David Sharpe, it was agreed that they need to play this fixture more than we need to play ours.

Believe it or not but I think its an honourable decision from the Rugby.

You are being very gracious there Argus.
Honourable decision my arse, they didn’t have a choice, they were told they couldn’t play on Friday night, but they can’t really say anything else can they?

Seeing as our “talisman goal machine” thinks we play hoof-ball, then not playing on a ploughed field may not be much of an advantage.

Argus, spot on. Lot of jealousy on here from bitter blues. One town, two teams!

Latics will have asked rugby to move to Sunday. Rugby haven’t trained all week so have said scrap that we’ll play it in april.

                    Win win.

                    #155796

For: ‘Potential for the game to be moved to Sunday was discussed but this simply isn’t an option…’

Read: ‘Sharpy says we can’t play Sunday either’

I despise the rugby as much as anybody, but if this is indeed a voluntary action then fair dos.
Mind you it will take many more selfless gestures to make up for lindsays never share a ground antics.

One man said that not 20k fans! Whelan saw fit to employ him afterwards! Get over it!

                          Voluntary action?
They ruined the pitch by playing on it when clearly unfit and it cost £200k to put right. Nothing voluntary about it.

Just the start of things to come.
When big Dave goes to that Wembley in the sky, Sharpie will have them fat chubby egg chasing cuckoos out !

20k fans? Struggle to have found 20k fans there if it had gone ahead tomorrow night. What Lindsay said then is what many of the so called egg fans would have been in agreement with and they probably still have that attitude towards Latics nowadays.
