I cannot see us scoring enough to stay up with the players we have and the tactics Bob uses.

Thats a question I often ask and you should be answering Standish as you think he’s doing a great job.

Where have I said he’s doing a great job on match days? If he was, we’d be in the top half of the league.

Standish I admire you arguing your corner in support of martinez but you are fighting a losing battle – whatever the reasons tactics, poor signings, bad luck or starvation of funds you and every man and his dog knows what is in front of all our eyes and it has gone worse not better.
True tonight it was an improved second half display against city, but city were poor and nervous at times and have been for their last few games, add the fact they had so many key players out,we could not have played them at a better time,if there is ever a good time to play them, but martinez does not have the ability to reconise this and go for the jugular, why bother living with the regret of being over cautious, is it not better to give it a go and die trying which didnt happen tonight and that sums martinez up for me.
The opinion he puts forward in his post match interviews – improved display and positives doesn’t wash any more.
There is a distinct lack of self belief, fight or motivation in this squad and no matter what anyone says the manager is the one who must address this, he is the route cause and where the buck stops.

if its your purpose well done as i have swallowed a 5/0 owner circle tarpon hook here but –
in their 18 man squad manchester city had one player who was subbed in an international final the 2008 euro final, we had a player who played in the 2011 south american equivalent and he managed 90 minutes – so your point is.

Not only does Bob have a problem getting results, he now has a problem motivating this lot
Most seem to have given up / no desire for the fight / going through the motions / no passion / playing for themselves / dont care / realise they are not good enough
I am sure there are many more
17 January 2012 at 1:21 pm #78460Forgot – the title of the thread is Goals
There are no goals in this team – certainly not enough to keep us up
17 January 2012 at 2:04 pm #78467I was surprised that Connor Salmon wasnt used as a battering ram last night. With Kompany and Richards out, their back 4 was as fragile as it’s going to get.
17 January 2012 at 2:11 pm #78469Best coach in Europe – sorry one of the best
would have the answer to that
