Hit the nail on the head there loudmouth

Not only does Bob have a problem getting results, he now has a problem motivating this lot

Most seem to have given up / no desire for the fight / going through the motions / no passion / playing for themselves / dont care / realise they are not good enough

I am sure there are many more

Back up there big guy…..I’m sure they were motivated for the Chelsea and Liverpool games – or are you saying his lost that ability post Christmas?

Standish I admire you arguing your corner in support of martinez but you are fighting a losing battle – whatever the reasons tactics, poor signings, bad luck or starvation of funds you and every man and his dog knows what is in front of all our eyes and it has gone worse not better.

True tonight it was an improved second half display against city, but city were poor and nervous at times and have been for their last few games, add the fact they had so many key players out,we could not have played them at a better time,if there is ever a good time to play them, but martinez does not have the ability to reconise this and go for the jugular, why bother living with the regret of being over cautious, is it not better to give it a go and die trying which didnt happen tonight and that sums martinez up for me.

The opinion he puts forward in his post match interviews – improved display and positives doesn’t wash any more.

There is a distinct lack of self belief, fight or motivation in this squad and no matter what anyone says the manager is the one who must address this, he is the route cause and where the buck stops.

I’ll repeat clearly what I’ve said on several threads over the past few days:

No, things are not going right on the pitch or we would not be in the position we are in.

What I have been picking up on are what I consider to be whoppers or merely people jumping onto a term that they have now knowledge of, and can’t explain:

There’s a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth after a one-nil loss to Man City. Some people need to get a grip of reality. Yes we could have gone for the jugular, but had everyone been thrown into attack and the back four been left exposed, we could easily have been hammered. On the firth goal going in, the stadium would have cleared to the sound of the odd boo and people posting on here an hour later saying Martinez’s tactics are useless – much the same as happened last night funnily enough, minus the scoreline.

What are his tactics? I don’t know. I’ve never been in the dressing room on match day.

As for the interviews – they are not aimed at Loudmouthblue sitting on his reclining chair in his fishing themed snug. His interviews are aimed at a wider audience, possibly including the players and suitors for them and himself.

Brownbill said the other day he’d prefer a more Mick McCarthy direct approach to interviews. In my opinion that’s the last thing the club needs. Unfashionable northern town; the general public think it’s a rugby league town of flat caps and whippets; they now also have a blunt manager who calls a spade a spade.

We may as well have a half time brass band.

      But Mr Walker…..

…..it would be a shit Brass band with ‘flat’ notes, poor timing, lack of depth, not enough songs played etc etc…..

…and when they finished the few who had stayed on the terraces instead of leaving early for threir pint and pie would boo them off calling for the conductors head shouting obsenities about crappy French Horns and trombones that drag…..

………I stopped listening to this crap the darksiders spout weeks ago. Regurtitating the same old crap over and over……it’s a very sad life some of them lead, (it’s as if they have never seen us in this predicament before……. )

For Heavens sake, I even read earlier someone extol the virtues of using the long ball as a way getting better performance (indeed even results) without tackling the part about who our strikers may be up against in those scenarios….I have seen, far too often, established defenders not even break into a sweat when dealing with a long ball sent their way.

Hey ho fella!…..every credit to you for sticking it up against them.

It’s not over til…….. [insert picture of fat lady singing here]

So Micky lets just carry on regardless playing crap football that produces no goals and not much excitement and get relegated. If nobody complains we can all say we were proper fans who stuck with the team and never complained even though were crap. When us the supporters stop caring the club really is dead and I’m sorry but why should we have to suffer in silence???

Im sorry but its far far too late to be talking about this!
We are going to be relegated its as simple as that and no late signings or changes in tactics are going to correct the many many faults that exist within this particular Wigan Athletic team.
We play tippy tappy and give the ball away, dont know how to close games down when we are ahead and switch off during crucial periods in games. Some of the players in our squad are not premier league standard some of them are non footballers-money should have been spent last summer to bring in some quality players!
The Bolton game was this seasons nadir for me personally and if changes had been made after this game and the right person brought in then i think we would have had a fighting chance with correct organisation.
As it stands i think we will go on another eight or nine game losing run now and be sunk by mid march.
sorry to be so negative :(
