I thought it was a great win. It was almost like watching Rudolf Nureyev dancing with the occasional slip. Some great link up play, fantastic to see 2 up front with Grigg and Davies linking up like links on my chain and at the same time adding deft little lay offs.
Deisel Perkins motoring in midfield and a solid defence being held together by MOM Daniels.
Just a shame a. Griggs header hit the post and b. MAF didn’t have a link up man last season, if he had … who knows where we’d be now.
Yup, a good day out. Each game I’ve seen this season has been better than the previous one. Good job I didn’t go to Gillingham, but that was a mere hiccough.
In fact … maybe the best I’ve see Wigan play since 11 May 2013 and that other day a few months later at the Etihad.
Well done Gary! I like your style ….. a combination of all the best bits of the last, oh god, I’ve lost count, how many managers since Roberto. Bit of passing, bit of keeping it on the ground, bit of giving it back to the keeper, bit of build up, occasional directional hoof, bit of high pressure and a bit of sitting back, a fit team and absorbing the pressure. He could be Managing Swansea soon.
