25 January 2020 at 2:41 pm #184311Clearly in the eyes of JR and Egg, he is still a top class striker, so buy him back then
Clearly you haven’t read my first post in this thread

What a journey!25 January 2020 at 2:54 pm #184312He,s older and more injury prone we have young lads busting a gut to make a breakthrough into the first team so why the hell would we want him back.
25 January 2020 at 3:09 pm #184313Agree with Jr…..certainly not lazy. Blighted with injuries and the pressure of playing for the can’t get out of league 1 giants …not helping. Found himself picked behind Garner at the time .Incidentally Garner now finds himself regularly picked behind ….no striker. I hope Grigg moves and finds his feet again as he did us proud when here. Take him back ??….. Not for me but who knows? Anything possible with the present management.

I did but I chose to ignore your sly dig.
25 January 2020 at 7:34 pm #184319If he’s that good, why has no club in the entire league come in for him this window?
Its been pretty much shown that he is a League One striker and I would imagine that due to you spending 3m on him that most clubs in that league can’t afford him[/quote]
I think we’d give him away right now, and most of the fans would pay for the taxi fare. The issue now is he is picking up £10K a week for sitting in the stands and doing the bare minimum in training and seems to rather like being a highly paid seat warmer, hence my comparison to Jack Rodwell. If he really wanted to play football, he’d be on his bike, as he’s not wanted up here. His attitude and style of play does not fit in with the current manager, who wants his players fit and running till the 90th minute.
The reason we are not pulling up trees is because our previous manager had allowed the squad to get unfit – the straw that broke the camels back was a widely shared photo of McGeady & Maguire tucking into a pile of McDonalds. Since that surfaced, Maguire has trained his arse off and is now running for 90 minutes instead of needing to be subbed after 65. McGeady hasn’t featured since and clearly wasn’t interested in knuckling down and getting fit.
Grigg is finished – no fucker wants him.
25 January 2020 at 7:43 pm #184320The fitness regime at Sunderland sounds similar to what we had under Coyle.
You could see week by week the squad becoming less fit.25 January 2020 at 8:03 pm #184321And I will again say that is more to do with you than him seeing as he has scored at every club he’s been at in that division.
As for George’s comment, when we lost in Europe to Waregem at home we were pretty much blowing out our arses as a collective after 60 minutes

Wasn’t a sly did I was stating a fact, unless you feel your team are pulling up trees having just drawn at home and failing to score against Doncaster?

Your comment about not pulling up trees was made approx noon yesterday. We kicked off at 7:45pm and didn’t finish until almost 9:45pm. Prior to that game we’d won 4 out of 5, scoring 11 and conceding 2. All of it without Grigg.
25 January 2020 at 10:45 pm #184324Good point well made mutty!

My point about not pulling up trees was referring to your league position. Surely a club as MASSIVE as yours would expect to be in the top 2.
Even better point DNR don’t you think? From Matlock to ManU

25 January 2020 at 11:50 pm #184331Surely a club as MASSIVE as yours would expect to be in the top 2.Why?
We’re a 3rd division club with 3rd division players. Our centre midfield is Max “Point then pass it somewhere else” Power and George Dobson, who was relegated with Walsall last season. Our keeper and starting centre forward have never played higher than L1. Our LB and LW are academy products. Our CB’s were signed from Coventry, a Turkish 2nd division club and QPR. Our RB was signed from Wycombe.
We are only MASSIVE in the eyes of those who see us that way – mainly because of our history, honours board and attendances, but none of those count when the game starts. But its nice to see that you think of us that way though.
SSB – You are just a sad troll – grow up.
