She’s just done the typical MP thing, seen an opportunity to voice her opinion on something and tried to curry favour with her bosses and voting public of Wigan. She is as entitled to anyone to an opinion on wether Malky Mackay is the right person for our club (be it for footballing or other reasons).
Where she is bang out of order is that she has chosen to go public on her views at a point where the only link to us and Malky is that he is an unemployed football manager and we are looking for a new manager. The time to use her political position to comment on Malky becoming our manager is if/when the club confirms he has been invited for interview or indeed offered the job/appointed and even at that point a private letter to the club would be more appropriate.

I thought Labour MPs were all in favour of reducing unemployment
When DW wants her opinion he’ll no doubt ask for it…don’t hold your breath Ms Nandy. How many games has she been to?

Bet she thinks we play with an EGG shaped ball.

We might be able string 3 passes together then.
The funny thing here is a labour MP trying to advise a known tory on what he should do.
17 November 2014 at 2:25 pm #135625Four years ago, before my exile in Leyth, I had a house for sale in Swinley and had a call from the estate agent to make an appointment for a viewing for a Ms Nandy. I showed her and her partner around and during the chit chat I asked her what she did. She said she worked in London quite a lot and rented a place there but needed a place in the Wigan area too but without really saying exactly what she did. She’d been MP for Wigan for four months at that point and I’d actually voted for her. I hadn’t a clue who she was

I would understand this line if he was talking about rugby:
“I think it’s so important that somebody like the MP – she’s not a Wigan girl by the way, she was imported into Wigan from another area, she’s not a Wigan lass, so she doesn’t understand football.”

Straight from the Malky Mackay school of diplomacy.
They’ll get on well together, him and Dave!20 November 2014 at 3:32 pm #135754Ha Ha check Whelan out, he has no boundaries and even less tact

good comment by the way from a guy not from wigan but adopted from yorkshire
20 November 2014 at 4:32 pm #135760He was born in Bradford because his parents happened to be there at the time. Jimmy Whelan, his Dad, was a travelling stand-up entertainer – under the name of Tony Rigaletto actually. Raised by a Wigan family in Wigan.
20 November 2014 at 4:44 pm #135761exactly so he is a yorkshireman not a born wiganer so his comment is very funny about lisa :P
20 November 2014 at 4:48 pm #135762He said Tandy wasn’t a Wigan lass – not the same as saying she wasn’t born in Wigan.
20 November 2014 at 4:48 pm #135763exactly so he is a yorkshireman not a born wiganer so his comment is very funny about lisa :PNot sure how him happening to be born in Bradford when his mother was on a day trip there qualifies him as a Yorkshire man but I think you already know that.

My sister was born in Firs Hospital in Leigh but it doesn’t maker her a pointless, scruffy, thick waste of oxygen.
Oh, hang on…
