I can’t believe everyone is saying sack Bobby!!!!
What because we lost last night, so what we need to be concentrating on the league. I agree sometimes his tactics confuse me and the 4-5-1 everyone keeps slating is meant to be adaptable to a 4-3-3 with the 2 wide men tracking back into midfield to assist. There only tactically issue I think Bobby is struggling with is a plan B so when the formation isn’t working we need to change. The guy is still learning and said him self he would need 3 transfer windows to build the team he wants and change the way we play. I said at the start of the season I hope we give Bobby a chance and don’t sack him when the going gets tough, I do believe we will stay up this season. This season should be about staying in the league, letting Bobby put is own stamp on the club, build a team he wants and let him learn about managing in the Premier league.

They are too many Wigan fans think we are a bigger club than we are and when it gets tough start wanting the manager sacked or Whelan out. We should all rally together and support the club we love, lets build something. Sir Alex didn’t have the greatest start to top flight English football because he needed a year to put his own stamp on things.I was one of those there last night, poor performance yes Would I have played 4-5-1 no definiteley not. But hindsight is a wonderful thing if we had won 5.0 last night playing 4-5-1 who would have moaned. Bobby out, give me a break he’s only just got here. He might be getting quite a bit wrong, hes new to the prem job. He’s made some new signings and it looks like we now have some competition for places. All he and the team needs is support and patience. Do you actually think booing him and the team will help our cause.

Well said, mate. Fact is, whether you admit it or not, we are a tin-pot club, compared to everyone wlse in this league. The fact that we’ve lost 5000 of our home support shows just how ‘great’ some of these fans really are. (We had approximately 16000 home fans V Sunderland, in November. On Saturday, we had approximately 11,000. Shocking)

i also agree,as i have already stated in another thread i will not judge bob this season,a new manager coming in needs time to build his team,this season for me is about bobby keeping us up and then next season see what he can do.Some of the posts on here are a joke,lets go back to when whelan 1st took over and we were swapping managers every week.The people who are shouting for bobs head would be happy to have benson on the bench and lindsey as his number 2 thats if they were there when benson was bossi am sick of coming on here and reading all the bull###t that gets put on by so called wigan fans!!! its times like these that we need to rally together and get behind the boys,we are playing in the best league in the world,so lets get behind them and make sure we stay here..i dont want to be playing knob end and the rest of the wasters in the championship!!!!!! roberto martinez roberto martinez roberto martinez roberto fucking martinez!! :D :D

I don’t think anybody does but I think its more likely with Roberto Martinez at the helm than anybody else
Bottom line is that we cant defend how bad we are playing, the signings are what they are and we have a squad that should keep us up. It is down to bob to organise them to do that. All we can do now is support them and hope for the best.
Lets see how the next 4 games go then !
I sat in WS6 last night, and ‘vigorously remonstrated’ with the bloke sitting behind me as he was booing and shouting abuse at Martinez. Have no idea if he frequents this site (If he did, I’d apologise to him, as I was perhaps a little too vigorous in my remonstration), but fair play to him, he was man enough to apologise to me and admit that he overreacted – unlike the other ‘supporters’ booing in close proximity, who cowered into their seats like scolded puppies, and remained totally silent for the last five minutes of the game.
My question to this gentleman was ‘what is the point of booing, and what will it achieve?’
I’m sure Martinez, Whelan and the players are fully aware that the supporters aren’t happy when there’s a bad result, so is it a message to the press? We only get five thousand on for cup games, and three thousand of those boo their own team and manager.
I bet Moses is delighted he signed for us and will soon playing in front of our loyal band of supporters.
My own personal opinion is that throughout the course of the game you should try & get behind the team. Whether I manage to practice what I preach is open to debate!!
However, when the final whistle goes I believe that everybody has the right to boo or whatever as they see fit
At the end of the day if they get a rapturous round of applause after every game no matter how poorly they have performed then what will that achieve either??Its quite a while since i read such a load of cack from so many people.
What did you expect Bobby to do? work miracles? he inherited a poor team and has managed to keep hold of what decent players there were, get rid of a good few of the bad ones and has got more out of several players than Bruce managed to do. its the first transfer window i can remember for a while where we didnt sell someone we knew we would struggle without their presence.
He might not be a tactical genious but he is getting more experience and it will get better. if it doesnt, as long as we dont get worse compared to the teams below us, so what – we survived. How many times has it gone down to the wire? last day penalty agaisnt a relagation contender and an unexpected result at Villa – but we arent in that position.
Why cant we get somebody in to help him instead of having those useless pricks jones and barrow supporting him,
Maybe we’ve just got a god awful bunch of players who are only bothered about wages? Rather than poor management.

Well well, what a suprise, we have a bad night and the stuck record known as “NatDan” turns up. Yet again we get “Martinez out” with not a hint of a way forward should we sack the manager, I’ve yet to read a sensible suggestion on that. No excuses for last night’s performance but I guess had we won by 5 or 6 the likes of NatDan and others would have moaned that we didnt score enough goals.
