We went 2nd today. Lets concentrate on that!

    This.

Some folk would rather fill a box of Kleenex over the Warriors losing a friendly match than celebrate their own side’s success.

It doesn’t bother me either eggy my Barrow and Millom comment was in response to your not passing another rugby ground to get to Wigan comment. We all know Wigan Warriors have support all over the country and that’s through the amount of media RL gets via Sky, BBC etc. Super League gets similar or less average attendance to League 1 in football but a disproportionately higher media coverage than League 1 in football so this helps keep the out of town fan base healthy.
Yesterday was an amazing win and congratulations to GC and GB again on the away tactics that are working. Second is fantastic and more results like this at Burton and Milwall could see us pushing Burton for the title. Considering the change in manager players and chairman that would be yet another amazing chapter in the history of WAFC.

So folk in Barrow and Millom don’t drive past Barrows Rugby ground on the way to Wigan. Also if your out of town thing was aimed at LHL well that’s where he lives now but he is from Wrightington that is is in Metro Kremlin Borough of Wigan. Ei I ei I ei I oh!

Yes Donny you are correct and obviously did your homework before putting the boot in; unlike Egg. The Postcode on my birth certificate is WN6. I’ve always followed the Latics and always thought of Rugby League as a marginal and uninteresting sport for fat kids who couldn’t run fast enough to play football. That perception has stayed with me from my youth.
Wonder how many Wigan RL fans can claim to be born within the Wigan post code ?

Me for one, and I suspect if you did any detailed research you’ll find that the vast majority were born in this area. But then again, as there isn’t a SL club due north of Wigan and a professional club in Lancashire, so why shouldn’t someone who lives in Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn etc not follow Wigan Warriors?

As for different club shirts at a WCC game – why not? Just like the magic weekend and the cup final, these sort of events are for the whole of the rugby following community, not just the followers of the two clubs involved. I think its a great advert for the sport to see 19,000 turn up and sit next to each other in a vast array of club shirts without having the urge to beat the crap out of each other.

I must admit I don’t think I could sit amongst that lot and not beat the crap out of someone

Im only 10 minutes walk from runcorn town’s ground, who are not the main team – that title belongs to runcorn linnets, who im led to believe is the runcorn team we played in the FA cup in the 90’s. Funny how such a small town can have 2 football teams. I keep saying i’ll go & watch one of them one of these days but have never got round to doing it.

So they want THEIR stadium back do they? If I remember they had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the JJB as it was then as Dave Whelan gave them the option of staying where they were and probably going bust. Also how many matches last season were on Thursday due to Uncle Rupert calling the shots. Never heard any thing then.

            Ashton-in-Makerfield hosts three teams.

You really ought to watch non-league.

Linnets however aren’t the same team we played. They went bust but fans had already formed a new team, Linnets.

Yes they do but of course they aren’t an Ashton team.

They’re a bit like the egg men at our place.

Did you see Brocstedes on Saturday? It’s set a pitch back which 4 teams play on by months. Ref and league should be held accountable for that shocking decision.
