Every football player has his value. Even if the club received 5-7 million for him can they then go out and buy as good a replacement for the same money given there would be other clubs, Championship clubs, after that same player?
He is our best asset. To sell him would be detrimental to our promotion chances.

I posted a thread a while ago about how important it was for us at this stage of the season to be top of the league. Being where we are means we do not need to sell our star players.
If we do sell the likes of powell this month, it will be completely suicidal & WILL end our promotion push. Unless, of course a replacement is lined up.

My post meant that modern football, players going for daft money….apart from when its us, and Jim McDonald comes in and offers 1.5 million for a player worth 5 at minimum….I meant that just as you think you know what modern football is like, the opposite occurs…hence throwing the book….guidebook….on the fire.
