28 March 2019 at 1:41 pm #177688If the club in the south stand is open after games why the frig would you keep the concourse bars open. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Exactly
28 March 2019 at 2:12 pm #177689I think they could do more with the East stand area and why not leave the concourses open for two hours after games so people can have a beer and a chat .
So you wanna stand there till 7 say mid winter on a Saturday, freezing your ted’s off while drinking nats p1ss ?. I think by 5:30 you’d be on your mobile on your jack’s while everyone else are either at home thawing out or in a nice warm boozer chatting away.
To be fair Cup Winners, Dave Whelan had the very same idea not long after the stadium was built coz I was at a fans forum where he spoke about it.
Apparently it was vetoed by the police who said it would just be encouraging excessive drinking
Correct Tilders, I also remember that.
Seem to recall that the Police & Council poured cold water on a number of reasonable ideas :( :( :(
That’s all well applying for the bar to be left open till 7 but how many would want to stop behind drinking dish water for 2 hours while freezing your buds off ???.
Black’s white whites black, for f**ks sake, non of you would be there that’s unless your one boring fart and homeless with f**k all else better to do other than get in your cardboard box
I agree that it aint for me but the point I was trying to make was that it wasn’t that stupid an idea as it is something that the club has explored in the past – not the club hasn’t had its fair share of stupid ideas over the years!!
28 March 2019 at 11:27 pm #177694Refurb the concourses and improve the facilities instead of the barn like set up we currently have .
Anything that creates income has to be given credence surely and also frees up space elsewhere to rent out etc.
Just thoughts really but they really need to up their game to generate more turnover for the club.28 March 2019 at 11:41 pm #177695Which grounds have people gone to which you would hold up as good examples of wanting to spend more time there, or because of the faculties you spent more money there? We have a good kids club before the match but that doesn’t directly increase revenue. There is a supporters bar under the south that could do more afterward, perhaps music or food and an away bar under the north. There is an Italian restaurant as well. The marquee is well used at Christmas, at weekends at night and also holds things like wedding fairs and blood donation sessions. Bolton has a hotel and that probably is something that we could benefit from or did some sort of link up with the new one that is due to be built by the cinema. Now I have been to a fair few grounds and have never thought I will hang around here for a couple of hours! I like the suggestions being put forward but don’t like the put downs and wish folk were more positive.
29 March 2019 at 12:00 am #177696Anyone who thinks keeping concourse bars open after a game a good idea is deluded.
The lounge under south stand is ample just go there.29 March 2019 at 12:06 am #177697Which grounds have people gone to which you would hold up as good examples of wanting to spend more time there, or because of the faculties you spent more money there? Were not Utd or Arsenal you know, tourist by the bus load visiting the Duggy and B&Q.
I’m sure they already have it all planned out, 17:30…leets out gates chained up.Just wait till the grass has been ruined with decking vans gig after gig then the rugby we’ll be starting the season off on ploughed farmers field.
IEC will maximize the long daylight hours with gigs galore. We’ll be no no more than “that team” come August.29 March 2019 at 1:06 am #177699I really don’t see your issue with them wanting to use the stadium to make money. The club has no income streams from anywhere else does it?
