“The new kit and training range is expected to be released early August.”
Now, I see why Wigan Athletic are awful at marketing.
Have you any idea why the range is only being released in August?
Have you any idea where the company providing the merchandise is up to with regard to production, shipping and warehousing?
Have you any idea about marketing?
Have you any idea? At all, about anything?
Fortunately, although I do know that some of the powers that be take a peek at this site now and again, they are largely sufficiently witted to ignore 99% of its contributors.

Would that 1% be you & Donolly by any chance ?
Regardless, the two most popular times people buy club football shirts are at christmas time, and for summer holidays. I cant find where i read it online now but that’s the case. We’ve pretty much missed one of those, therefore its poor marketing.

That, my friend, is not a bad point. But, I still maintain that those who are minded to buy a replica shirt will do so anyway whenever it comes out and those that aren’t, won’t. So, I’m not convinced that timing is such a big deal.

On the money my friend.
The longer the club has the kit out for, the more money they make.
There has been NO advertisements saying “NEW LATICS KIT, OUT SOON” or anything like that.
Just outside stadium way, there’s a sign which advertises the prices, dates & opposition of the next few matches at the DW, for Wigan Warriors.
Should of played Chelsea in the new kit in May, as it was on TV.
Also, the club knew Vandanel went bust ages ago, Mi-Fit should of been made to act earlier.

I’d disagree – the people who buy replica shirts for either themselves or their kids are going to buy them regardless of whether they come out on May 10th or August 15th.
I’d hazard a guess that Latics can guess pretty acurately how many replica shirts they will sell & I doubt the date of its release makes any difference to that amount

Not to season ticket holders but it does make a difference to people who don’t support Wigan as much as others or don’t have the money at certain times.

If they don’t have the money then I don’t think the shirts are suddenly going to be sold out across Wigan. The only place that seems to hold the date of release as a top priority is Liverpool, because if they didn’t come out at the end of May the scousers would have nothing to wear for the rest of the year!
