just a thought…..what are people’s opinions of bringing back jewell – to kick the arses & get shut of some of the players we have now. bit like when he first arrived back in 01 season??
23 January 2012 at 10:00 pm #79250He’s never been the same since being busted for cheating on their maude. Ask yourself how other players are expected to regard what you say knowing you have that behind you which made national press?
He’ll never make it back anywhere.
23 January 2012 at 11:13 pm #79257His track record at Derby and Ipswich has hardly made him a top target
24 January 2012 at 12:52 am #79269Still our greatest ever manager for what he acheived-we all make mistakes.
24 January 2012 at 1:04 am #79273I think it would be a good idea.Despite his faults,I reckon Jewell has a special affinity with this club and a good relationship with DW.

24 January 2012 at 1:28 am #79275Ah but Griff,Jewell is a far better manager than Martinez.(he was a better player too)

Dave Whelan bankrolled our much sought after promotion from the 3rd division (now league 1) and our very much unexpected and very premature promotion from the Championship to the Premier League
Jewell’s true credentials have been found out since leaving Wigan
Hard to think of any realistic managerial options who would be able to do much better for us than Martinez will next season whichever division we are in24 January 2012 at 1:56 pm #79299Ah but Griff,Jewell is a far better manager than Martinez.(he was a better player too)

24 January 2012 at 2:20 pm #79302I would be hard pressed to think of anyone who would do a worse job.Me for a start – and I would suspect most posters on here.
Graeme Souness.
John Barnes.
Kevin Keegan.
(Hang on, there’s a theme here – who did they all play for!)
Roy Keane (particularly as he “loves” Wigan now).
Avram Grant.
Paul Ince.
Alain Perrin.
Brian Kidd.
Christian Gross.
Shall I go on??

Billy Davies
24 January 2012 at 3:50 pm #79315Billy DaviesFook me Phil, not him again. Are you his agent?!
To be honest, maybe he could, but has been proven time and time again, you never know until they start the job.
24 January 2012 at 3:52 pm #79316Sorry SW but I took it that Phil meant he would do a worse job – that’s what my list was anyhow

That’s a fair list you put up there Mr Garswood (and some good contenders).
Have a look here also:
scroll down the page to ‘available managers’ to see a complete list of out of work managers.
I venture quite a few of these would also qualify for your list too.
