      COME ON YOU WIGANERS!!
Wednesday 11th April, meet starts 5.30 on corner between East and South stands.
      WIGAN ATHLETIC v MANCHESTER U
      B L U E D A Y, let’s make red pale into insignificance.
Be it what ever, wear your colours, wear your scarves and wave your flags to make 3 stands of the DW into a sea of blue.
I’m worried about games we enter now, not because of the teams we play but who will be in the middle.
Should ask Wigan RL to leave the video ref in place. Now that would stump them!

With Manchester United in town on Wednesday and bringing their loud obnoxious support with them how’s about we give them some back.

Our club colour is Blue, it is the colour that identifies the Latics, our home shirt is blue, even one of our away kits is blue, so it has been proposed that every Latics fan going to the game on Wednesday wears something blue. A coat, hoodie, replica shirt, it matters not, what does matter is the colour, let’s turn the DW Stadium home stands awash with blue

When the players walk out onto the pitch let them see that the home support is there, in numbers with their colours firmly on display, we are blue, let’s be proud of wearing blue, let’s turn Wednesday into Blue Wednesday

As usual you are doing a fine job of rallying the fans, I have a good feeling about this game.

Even before United went 8 points clear, I thought we would get something out of this game, now with a hopefully less intense Utd and maybe some players rested, with a referee that owes us a fair game after the last time out, with our players wanting serious revenger for the drumming at their place…..

I think we will do good, oh and I have it on audio that Martinez said we would ‘beat United’ this season. :woohoo:

FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that

The Supporters Club Bar will be open from 5.00 p.m. if you need a drink or a warm up…..

Seen it on the news letter and it’s been noted, be in there.

          Sent a message to Ed Jones for the players to be met with this as they join the pitch;

We make more of a fuss of our players and get a real buzz around the stadium we can do it.
I’m looking forward to it, the meet, supporters bar and the match.

I’m going to go into Wigan early and raid the market for some balloons and bunting. B)

Actually, I think it was one of the fans who said that and Roberto responded with “We have to, we have to”.

I thought they had both lost it. Then I looked round and saw I was sat next to Scoffy and Dave From Skem and realised I must have wandered on to the set of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. ;)

I simply can’t bring myself to believe that we will ever get anything out of a game with United. I seriously hope that tonight is the night that I’m finally proven wrong.

I’m the same but after having my facebook news feed inundated with nobeds patronising from pies to shit crowds when the closest they have ever got to a game is a trip to the manure megastore means I want nothing more than ANYTHING out of this game tonight.

I would quite literally trade my left testical for a 1-0 win tonight.

But coming back to reality and putting the mongoids of Salford to one side I would probably be happy if we just put up a really good performance against them.

I’d be seriously worried if you got any takers for that

Whilst I admire your effeorts to co-ordinate this type of thing (even if it isn’t my cup of tea) I really hope you’re unsuccessful in getting this absolute turd of a tune played as the players come out. Please leave it in the music bin in which you found it!! ;)
Besides which I’m told that the original lyrics & title to the song were changed for the chart release from “I’m blue & in need of a guy” & it had been an undergound hit on the gay scene for some time

Didnt they used to play this outside the ground ?

            Or did I dream that?

Totally agree. I think its a scary thought letting this lad pick the music we run out to. If Eds reading this. Please dont.

Are these “meet and greet” things just for the kids? I mean no self respecting adult would attend one of these, would they?

Ballons and Fancy dress? United fans will piss there keks.

I did and I am an adult…. maybe not by some peoples standards on here.

Dont get the bashing of the meet and greets at all tbh especially when it has clearly had a positive effect on the players.

Hell it even goes part the way to show that Wigan is not completely rife with moaning pensioners ….. not completely anyway :side:

some/many of you won’t have witnessed it but this song was used as a bit of a rabble rouser before our first ‘proper’ game at the new stadium (against Scunthorpe)
i seem to recall that it went down rather well at the time

other than that i like the idea of a new song based on the lyric, “i’d give my left testicle for 3 points tonight”

              Underground, overground, one-ball for three
Back to back wins in March, eunuchs are we

Will this do you for starters?

As I said, it’s not my cup of tea at all but if someone wants to do it whether they’re 5 or 55 I couldn’t care less – in all honesty though I doubt that it has made one jot of difference to the players & their performances on the pitch. Yes it would be better than people turning up lobbing poo at em but at the end of the day there’s 2 & a quarter hours between tonight’s meet & greet & kick off. During which time they’ll have done warm ups, received treatment on any knocks, had their team talk from the management, walked out in front of 20 odd thousand people, done the handshake & soaked up the pre-kick off atmosphere. The meet & greet will be so far from their minds at that point. Bobby saying it helps is more likely a PR exercise on his behalf to make the fans who do it feel wanted & encourage more people to join this & at the same time keep the possibility of anti-protests taking place.
Not knocking anyone who does it & it won’t have a negative effect but lets not kid ourselves that it has anythign to do with the recent up turn in form

That song is garbage though & I fail to see how in any way shape or form it will make a blind bit of difference to the atmosphere or players. – hopefully as a former muso Ed Jones will politely decline the request
