O/T I know .. but we are defo having the piss taken ..Bargain Booze Wig Lane .. our favourite Australian Chardonnay .. £6.50 .. meanwhile .. ‘every little helps ‘ Tesco .. next door, basically … £8.25 .. factor in the accusations of fuel prices too .. robbing bastards .. and , from the biggest UK grocer , with the HUGE advantage of ‘Economy of Scale ‘ .. something VERY sinister happening imo .. .26.92% difference ????
Decimalisation was in February 1971, before we played Goole away that season. I’m thinking more like 10p-12p for mild/bitter. I was only sixteen (looked about 12) and didn’t try to get a pint there!
People have a choice whether to buy or not, it’s not mandatory.
Point taken, but lots of fans enjoy a pint or two at the game before the game and half time etc, a lot of the older guys especially that maybe on a pension, the fans are being priced out of buying from the stadium, not sure on food prices but to charge nearly £6 a pint is scandalous!
£7.20 .. a gallon of petrol .. £50 a gallon of Guinness , Madri , Peroni etc . do the maths ..all sponsored by ‘drink aware ‘ ..we are being taken as fools .. which , of course , we are Not a question of being mandatory .. affordability !
A coffee and Madri last Saturday was nearly a tenner , unbelievable !
Used to be able to go out on a Friday night and have 6 pints of lager a bag of chips and ten cigs and still have some change from a fiver !
Inflation calculator tells me that in real terms that fiver would be worth £15 today meaning prices have gone through the roof haven’t they?
6 pints of lager , a bag of chips and ten cigs would be comfortably double that and more today.
