One big slog ahead i’m afraid.
Fuck the EFL
1 September 2016 at 3:13 pm #150393Time will tell. The last time I was happy with a transfer window we were relegated.
All the cries of “why have we let players go” and “team spirit torn apart” are the usual I would expect from Wigan fans. The fact that we’ve gone up a division and it’s what happens seems to pass them by. Team spirit will only take you so far hence why a team can dominate one league one season and then the same team is relegated the season after.
1 September 2016 at 10:10 pm #150399I for one certainley think we have a stronger line up now.
Out of the four players we have let go permanently, only Huws was anything like good enough for this league and he didn’t want to play for us anyway and won’t be missed.
Pearce was half decent, but am sure the likes of Buxton,Warnock and Burke (WHU loanee) are far better than he was. Chow and Nicholls were not good enough and have also been replaced by better players.
Chow, or Powell ??? Nicholls or Bogdan ??? its not hard to choose is it?
We have loaned out a further eight, so we do still own them, but there’s not many there with much first experience at this level and have all been replaced by more experieced and arguably better players.
We may not have signed any superstars, but overall we have got a much stronger squad. Our fringe players and younsters have been loaned out and will come back stronger and more experienced and the likes of Taylor and Odelusi are at least being paid by someone else while their contracts run down.
Overall I think there are a lot of positives and very few negatives.
The season starts now as David Sharpe has said. C’mon Wigan!!!
1 September 2016 at 10:27 pm #150400Good post Horc. An opinion how you see it without slagging other fans and their opinions off.
It’s how the new side is put together now.1 September 2016 at 10:42 pm #150401Good post Horc. An opinion how you see it without slagging other fans and their opinions off.
It’s how the new side is put together now.Just trying to look at it in a more logical and grown up way than some others may be doing.
Like you say it is just an opinion and some will and some won’t agree.
Some may strongly disagree, and will no doubt make a strong point of disagreeing even if they don’t really disagree, but that’s just the way some people are but I guess it takes all kinds.1 September 2016 at 10:43 pm #150402I for one certainley think we have a stronger line up now.Out of the four players we have let go permanently, only Huws was anything like good enough for this league and he didn’t want to play for us anyway and won’t be missed.

Also agree horc, at the end of the day there is nothing us fans can do about what goes on in the transfer window, all we can do is get down there and support which ever players pull on the blue and white, as always up the ‘tics.
1 September 2016 at 11:27 pm #150406Wolves in this league must not have rated Byrne and likewise Cardiff with Lefondre. Derby too offloaded Warnock and Buxton with no plans for them. Hunt too came to us not in the plans of Fulham. Now all these players were surplus to the requirements of our competitors at our level yet all deemed good enough for us. Who knows with getting a chance with us they may all prove their ex clubs wrong. Let us hope so. There is something about our club that can do this. Remember Heskey Melchiot Nzogbia and even Bramble who all had points to prove and did at Wigan.
We will upset a few along the way this season and if we keep the style of play we had for the second half of last season once gelled together we should be comfortable.
I just think this system of preparng for a season is ridiculous but that is out of our hands.1 September 2016 at 11:29 pm #150407And by the time these misfits gel together we may be well and truly in the shit, then we have Mr Swappenchange that would find it hard to pick the same team twice in a row with only eleven fit players.
Anyroad i,ll still be there for bad or worse!
Fuck the EFL

He’s a part timer JR, I think he means Burn. He got two letters right, not in the right places mind. Maybe he is just mildly dyslexic.
