Well you live and learn, good job im not a gambler then!
I apologise profusely and youre not a plonker !

I must give credit Mr Sharples at Cardinal Newman school for the maths ‘o’ level (ask someone over 40 kids) that enabled me to not make a twat of myself with that post ;)

You’ve no idea just how many times I checked, double checked and triple checked my sums before submitting![/quote]

Brian Sharples?? Thick as shit, yon mon. Owd Jack Blackledge was the best. Had us spending all the fifth year working out as many 9-dart 501 finishes as we could.

Brian! Couldn’t remember that earlier. Had him as a teacher and thought he was alright. Mind you, I was alright at Maths and had an interest in computers, so as far as he was concerned that was the perfect student!

Blackledge, now there’s a a proper legend. Never had him as a teacher though and I reckon he was the shit one. After all you’re an author not a statistician!

Jimmy Jesus the woodwork teacher? Alf Hart the art teacher? But best of all had to be Danny Tighe for biology. Cousin of Fergal Sharkey, or his wife was, I think.

rodgers is 1/4 on to be the scousers new manager, but to be fair bob has been as low as 1/3, A.V.B was favourite for a while, while louis van gaal has also come right in at one point.

when a managerial change happens, the press generally have an idea who will be the new man coming in, i think the press or bookies really dont have a clue on this one..

and neither do i…i had a 5iver on jurgen klopp at 7/1, after he came in from 33’s, and he’s back out to 25’s now.

        I was a proper all-rounder, me. :)

After we left school, we used to drink with Brian in the Swan and the Golden Lion now and again. he had a stroke and died quite young, I think.

I remember all those teachers. Danny Tighe was an absolute riot. And Graham Naylor, the PE teacher, remember him? He used to insist on seeing us all one by one before we came out of the shower – ostensibly to prove that we were clean – and then whacking each of us on the arse with a table tennis bat as we walked past. Never thought too much about it at the time, but these days…

No mate, this was Wigan, not some perverted, 6-fingered, yokel backwater like Leyland.
