      When you look at these stats, is our position that much of a shock?

        It is when you look at the teams below us bar Rotherham who haven’t had any parachute payments.

        We’ve walked slowly into this relegation like we did the last one, like no other club seems to do. It’s like we give up too early and being the club/fans we are who’ve had a lot of unexpected recent success, we just accept it as going ‘back to our level’.

        There used to be more Kenyon Out’s, Swain out’s etc when there was no expectation at a proper crap level. It’s a Wigan thing, a very strange breed.

        There is also the question how accurate is Transfermarkt in its valuations?
        It really is rough and ready, and has no official basis.
