He is a bit greedy, there were several times last night he could have played an easy first ball but decided to run at players.
Is it me or is Zog the only player with a left foot who is ineffective on the left wing? Much prefer him on the right.

He can be as greedy as he wants for me… He is quality, only player (more or less) who can beat a man and has pace.

The point we are trying to make is, last night he tried to take on too many players and got bogged down, where he could have easily played to another player.
It is no good doing too much when the end result gets you nowhere.
At times he needs to look at other options around him.
But he is quality.10 February 2010 at 4:50 pm #22289Last night Zog was giving them so many problems in the first half that they actually shuffled their whole back four.
Another frustrating result where we could / should have won. It’s all about that second goal. No matter how many times we can be leading and totally on top , we just can’t seem to get the second , killer goal. Again they were there for the taking. In the first half especially , Tuncay was getting more and more frustrated because he knew he was playing with far inferior teammates. ( Even if he is a dirty cheating Turk )
Last night the substitutions turned the game away from us. Bob boobed and gave them fresh hope.
Hopefully he’s learned from it.
10 February 2010 at 5:39 pm #22296N’Zogbia is our brightest player and has a lot to thank Martinez for in terms of switching him to the right hand side and bringing the best out of him.
The latest Opta stats clearly show we have the dribbler in the league

10 February 2010 at 7:23 pm #22324Like it or not bringing on Gomez lost most of the crowd, we lost the midfield battle and added nothing to our attacking game.
At that point in the game we looked likely to concede, bringing on Gomez made it an inevitability.
If we had brought Moses on we would have given Stoke another player to keep an eye on, they had enough trouble dealing with N’Zogbia, Rodallega and Scotland.
10 February 2010 at 7:32 pm #22327I can understand Bob not bringing on Moses. It wouldn’t have been a pleasant home debut with Stoke kicking bits out of him

And besides, I think Moses can handle himself. More so than Gomez, anyway.
10 February 2010 at 8:38 pm #22346Yawn. Yet another thread complaining about Martinez. I’ve said this all season and I’ll say it again.
He needs time!! Why don’t people realise that nothing happens quickly, he needs at least a season. If Man Utd fans had their own way they would have sacked Fergie after a season, what a brilliant idea that would have been. On a tight budget and the average squad he inherited, he did we expect?
10 February 2010 at 8:50 pm #22349Time my dear Duke – yes that is the point
There are 38 games in our season, we have had 24. In that time the majority of the crowd have seen G is clearly not good enough
Our leader is either blinkered, thinks he is still in the championship, is stubburn or plain stupid
Time yes – the sands of it are draining fast
10 February 2010 at 8:56 pm #22352You mark my words, if we give Martinez time support and money. He will succeed and become the best manager this club has seen. I know that’s a bold statement, but why can’t people be supportive of the club for once instead of taking the typical Wigan stance of moan moan moan?
10 February 2010 at 9:23 pm #22357Duke
I value and admire your optimism I really do and I hope your words come true again I really mean that
But while we wait and see what the outcome is going to be – answer me this
Do you think Gomez is any good?10 February 2010 at 9:30 pm #22359When did I mention Mr Gomez?
And I think he is really short on confidence and support. If we supported him he would be a good player I believe.
At present, he’s okay but nothing more. He’s like Koumas, needs games in one position. You saw that free-kick against Birmingham he can produce at times. I do admit however that he’s a little lightweight and weak. But then so’s Lionel Messi (by the way I am not comparing Gomez to Messi for even a second there, just making the point)
10 February 2010 at 9:37 pm #22361You didnt – I was just asking you a question
As everyone is entitled to their opinion and you have just given one in your reply – quite a reasoned one at that
My opinion is that time is running out this season, our manager made a boo boo last night, everyone can see Gomez is not what we need at the moment (and have seen it for sometime), fans were booing as they were venting their frustration at several things including no plan B, the silly Gomez introduction etc etc – they were booing in my opinion because they care

Booing because they care
I bet every parent does that at the school sports day
