What an horrendous season ,just fast forward to the last game and put us out of our misery. Mistake after mistake has been made by the owners . What the hell were they thinking last summer ? not bringing in experienced Championship players and then making Leam Richardson the scapegoat when things started to go wrong. Appointing a completely inexperienced replacement when the exact opposite was required. Throw in four months paying the players late and being docked the inevitable three points. Talk about how not to run a football club. Let’s hope lessons have been learned. I don’t think we can criticise Shaun Maloney too much at this point. There is obviously a lot going on behind the scenes ,you can tell with the body language that quite a few of these players will not be here next season. I will reserve my judgement until he has started to build his own squad and had a full pre season.
15 April 2023 at 9:35 pm #199329We should be getting some more information out of the owners about what the hell is going on now that we are in the open world of transparency. I want to know if this rookie manager is here after the end of the season if not I would like to know why. He should have been given a contract until May which if successfully keeping us up meant he got an extension.
Actually I think he should never have been given the job. His brand of football was never going to save us. Knowing these lot we will have to endure his rubbish next season, and it will be, with or without his own players.15 April 2023 at 10:48 pm #199331I think transaency from the club is essential for us to move forward.
Shaun still has a lot to prove but circumstances are very much stacked against us already for next season.
We all love the club and want some level of success, but with the recent cloak and dagger policy it just leaves us to think all manor of scenarios.16 April 2023 at 11:24 am #199337We should be getting some more information out of the owners about what the hell is going on now that we are in the open world of transparency. Who would you want as Manager ? bearing in mind we have no money. I really don’t think we can form any opinion of Maloney until next season. Most of these players will not be here.
16 April 2023 at 12:11 pm #199340I think Shaun will need more than a year to turn things around unless there’s some unexpected money chucked in. We’ve got some talent in the development squads but weather it’s enough for us to be competitive next season remains to seen.
Have we as fans got the patience to stick with Shaun next season? I’m not confident we do, but I hope I’m wrong.
16 April 2023 at 6:30 pm #199349Let’s not throw him under the bus just yet hey !. Come on chaps he’s just took on one of the toughest jobs in any League.
Points deducted,
Injuries galore,
Better players out on loan,
No transfer window,
It was an impossible job to take on. At no point have I seen any signs of any type of improvement not with the current crop.I will judge him around Christmas time after he’s a summer to sort the squad and about 20odd games in, only then will I have an opinion on his managerial skills.
I will have to see a plan, a style, and the backing of the club with some money. Yes you can limit spending but they mustn’t superglue together the purse strings and give him nothing.
Oh and I don’t want to see Fletcher at the club.
17 April 2023 at 9:19 am #199365We seemed to have money when we paid LR off, the appointed Kalamity Kolo and his sidekicks, they lasted 40 odd days then got paid off then we jumped out of the pan and in to the fire with the appointment of Maloney.
Everyone knew and could see an experienced manager was needed to keep us in this league, I’m not sure Maloney is the man to take us forward in League 1 even with his own team we’ll still get the same shit tactics and formations.
One question? If we lose the next four games without scoring do you think the owners will stick with SM?
Fuck the EFL
17 April 2023 at 12:14 pm #199366I was taken back when he was appointed manager I personally didn’t think we’d go back to back newbie manager.
Im for giving everyone a chance even Toure but let’s face it, it’s one hell of a job to take on if your pots empty and you’ve another team of players out on loan or injured.
We’ve got to get behind him because like Richardson it’s not his fault. I think till at least the new year so he had of had a full window and about 20odd games to hopefully make improvements.
We have 10 pros still signed to the club till at least 2024 and a few longer. To build a side around them with youth and new signings is going to be a monumental task and we need to get 100% behind Maloney.I personally think it will take a minimum of 2 seasons to get a side together to push for promotion that’s how crap were in.
17 April 2023 at 12:57 pm #199367One thing is for sure, the Bahraini Cowboys have taken us backwards in the last 12 months, next season is going to be a throwback of the admin days all over again.
Fuck the EFL

It’s a lot more than 10 still here next season. Maloney said in interview there are 18 still contracted next season.
Here’s who I reckon:
Whatmough
Kerr
Hughes
Pearce
Lang
Aasgard
Edwards
Jones
Humphreys
MaGrath
Shinnie
Magennis
Naylor
Wyke
Scully
KeaneTilt (is a guess but could be)
The last one he’s counting could be Tickle or Smith or Stones
17 April 2023 at 9:01 pm #199373Any of those not at the club won’t be coming back I can guarantee you that.
I’ve a feeling if the right money comes in Pearce will go especially with only a year left.Magennis will be gone after been snubbed so many times, and Listen, don’t bet on Lang been here next season he had his admirer’s in the Championship. Then you’ve the likes of Power who took some serious abuse Saturday so he might think, stick any deal get me out of here.
Let’s not forget all these players weren’t paid on time numerous times so along with us they’ve no doubt lost any faith with the owners.
This is going to be a very difficult summer transfer wise with more than you think wanting out.
The lads up Scotland ?, We can’t afford to have them back and I’m sure they don’t want L1 anymore. This is why I said previously, it’s going to take a miracle worker to rectify the mess were in. These owners better sit up and quickly realise they need to invest and invest wisely or the sh1t will hit the fan so hard you won’t be able to sand blast it off
22 April 2023 at 5:54 pm #199415We need a massive clear out a fresh start I reckon Hughes will be sold soon power and derickwa well mist who played today must go
If we can keep aassgarrd and ughes and bring in a couple more youngsters plus a few more players with experience and quality to play at minimum 3 to 4 years at league one level has that is as far has tallal and co can keep us going in
Obviously championship is too much for our owners has proved this season
My worry is assggard and Hughes will be sold on to help keep our club going a couple of hard seasons in front of us
Until either we find a buyer or become self sufficient in bringing our young ones in a d flog them off for a decent return22 April 2023 at 9:12 pm #199416That’s three wins out of the last four games ,it’s too late but encouraging signs. Agree we need a clear out but I have every faith in Shaun Maloney .Think he can bring through the young kids and also bring in a few shrewd signings .I think we will be competitive in League One maybe not right at the top but pushing for the play offs which will do me for a couple of seasons. We have made some massive mistakes as a club this season let’s hope we have learned a few harsh lessons and come back stronger.
22 April 2023 at 9:22 pm #199418Fully agree with you pheonix
