Like we’re supposed to know when the rules are changed and what they are changed to, it’s an annual occurance.

Plus it is usually so that WRLFC don’t have to cheat anymore :o

        Hey man,

I even asked one of their fans to explain that thing where the play off qualifiers could actually ‘choose’ their opponent.

He couldn’t. Didn’t have a clue. So what chance do we have?

Bit of a drag even thinking about it, man.

That’s a pathetic thing in my opinion. The answer is though that Leeds (who won tonight) can pick who they play out of the two winners next week.

COULD be Champions but it would be very tough

Rather like a football team that finishes 6th (or 7th in League 2) can be promoted.

                How clever are rugby fans?

Rather like a football team that finishes 6th (or 7th in league 2)can be promoted.

Right, where do i start on this one,
well there are 24 teams in league 2 so finishing 7th is not below mid table. 8th in a league of 12 is , plus they only get promoted, they don’t become champions of the country, they don’t even become champs of league 2. The rules also stay the same year after year, they are not changed, there are 2 semi finals a home game and an away game in both semis, the winners of the 2 games on aggregate play each other in a one off final.

Every football fan understands this system, whereas thugby fans don’t realy have a clue what is going on in there play offs. There is none of this choosing who you want to play b.o.l.l.o.c.k.s either.
What i realy don’t understand though, why they even bother having play offs, its the top league, whoever wins are champs, thats it, done, finished, season over. The RFL will probably say it is for entertainment but come on, only 8689 bothered with the b.o.l.l.o.c.k.s.

You have just proven that thugby fans realy don’t have much upstairs in 1 sentance. All when trying to make someone else look stupid, tip for you engage brain before typing on a public message board, good night :D :D :D

Whilst I don’t agree with the playoffs everybody knows the rules at the start of the season. RL isn’t the only sport to use a ‘playoff’ system though is it?

                        NFL, MLB, NBA etc etc

And whilst the playoff to be promoted is different in the fact that you don’t become champions, a team could finish 3rd by 1 goal on gd and not be promoted to the prem because they lose to a dodgy decision in a game against 6th (with a few key men injured) who they finished 17pts clear of. The said team in 6th then get promoted to the PL and make millions in one season, only for third place to see their best players sold and them struggle for a while. (see Ipswich the year we were promoted. Had we finished third we would still be in the champ now if not lower imo) Not exactly fair, but again everyone knows the rules.

The playoff crowds are always quite low but many believe the reason is that the clubs don’t get the receipts but the RFL. Announce a crowd of 8k when theres around 10k on and pocket the money. (still a shit crowd I agree, but it makes sense)

Egg, its the same as saying the team wich finishes 13th or 14th in the prem still has a chance of winning the league and being the so called best team in the country, no matter how much crap you come out with, you can’t justify it.
I am not having ago like, just pointing out.

As I said – I don’t agree with it. IMO you finish 1st after 27 games you’re the best. Simple. Yes 8th have the chance to win it, but it’s highly unlikely (cas lost to us btw)

When they moved to 14 teams they should have stuck with the top 6 imo, but i’d still prefer first past the post.
