If people turn their back on the club, as some on here have said they will, it will be tough. But if those football snobs grow a pair and decide that League One isn’t beneath them we should be OK.
We are Latics we start again its in our DNA. Never underestimate this brilliant club.The rollercoaster is on a downward part of the ride but the next ascent is not far off it never is. Believe YAMS.

It worries me at times where we will be in ten years but wherever that is I shall still be there. Look the eight thousand or so fans we have this season that weren’t there twenty years ago may not fancy lower league or non league football but I don’t enjoy Latics anymore now or when we were in the greed league than in the Non League days. Bloody loved the Chorley derbys and the cup runs and all the extra matches just as much as any other period in Latics recent history.Go up from lge 1 next season have a battle in the championship go down again and repeat and repeat. It’ll do me.
Breathing out of my arse by the time I got to my seat to see a ref who supported Newcastle, how he didn’t book shelvy for diving then we get a free kick and the first goal doesn’t go in, refs decisions change games. Newcastle will go straight back down their shit.
People who desert the club if/when we are relegated can fook off forever for me. Give me hardcore & loyal supporters who stay with the club whatever league we may be in any day of the week.
I have always believed our rise to the greed league (including the cup win) was the start of our demise & NOT the slide down the leagues. From always being a lower league club during my earlier years as a latics mon, supporters always seemed content of who we were. Since being promoted to the greed league, my guess is that some people now view our club as a premier league club & should still be there. I wonder if supporters of the likes of bradford, pompey et al (clubs our size – if not slightly bigger) think the same!!
Whatever happens this season, next season & thereafter, i WILL still be here (work permitting). This is my club. Im celebrating my 40th anniversary next season as a latics mon. If someone told me back in 1978 that i would see my team play in all 4 divisions & win a cup, but would slide back down to whence we came – i would have taken that. Football is a rollercoaster folks. Take the ups with the downs.
