I don’t think Callum has broke any pots yet. God knows what their fans will think when James arrives there. Well we are certainly quids in and 1.5 for McClean is an absolute steal. Well done to whoever brokered this deal.
17 June 2015 at 1:17 am #142832We don’t want to pish about, get the 1.5 and give chesterfield the 800 grand they want for Cuclas. I was impressed with him during the two games I saw against Preston.
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!17 June 2015 at 1:40 am #142833Who knows a 700k profit and a winger who may get crosses in.
17 June 2015 at 2:14 am #142834It sounds like good business especially when you take the wages into account.
17 June 2015 at 2:26 am #142835Another Wigan player sitting on the sidelines at WBA ! Can’t believe we actually got money for him
17 June 2015 at 10:18 am #142836How many red cards and yellow cards between them next season if they ever get past the bench. Shame about Callum though, there was a lot of talent there but for some reason not quite meeting potential. Although Callum is a much more talented player, another player we had for a while who didn’t quite crack it but had plenty potential was Lea Ashcroft. Maybe it was the Nobenderism running through his veins.
17 June 2015 at 12:59 pm #142839I have to say I was bothered when, Forshaw, Delort, Riera, Tavernier, McMannaman, Boyce and Maloney left the club, I was apathetic when Carson went, I am approaching joyful at the 1.5mill we have received for this headless chicken.

I called him ‘The Blind Alley Kid’!
17 June 2015 at 4:02 pm #142849Well we are certainly quids in and 1.5 for McClean is an absolute steal. Well done to whoever brokered this deal.£1.5 million is certainly a steal when you consider you paid £2 million for him two years ago, he’s still a regular in the international set-up and was the player of the year last season. I hope he is going without a payoff to either him or his agent and the whole £1.5 million goes direct to the coffers of the club.
17 June 2015 at 4:02 pm #142850I think the reason why he was popular despite the obvious flaws to his game were that at times when it looked like many other players wanted to be anywhere other than out on that pitch in a Latics shirt, McClean looked like he was busting a gut to do his best every time he played.
At Latics, we’ve always taken a shine to 100%’ers with slightly limited ability. That’s why the likes of Neil Roberts became cult heroes whilst your Simon Haworth’s (even before he did the Ayatollah), who had more talent in his little finger, used to get pilloried
17 June 2015 at 5:10 pm #142852God loves a trier eh!
18 June 2015 at 11:21 am #142857Snatch their effin hands off – 100% effort and a great engine but I see players in my weekly 5 a side torture with more ability on the ball thn him.
I am all in favour of trimming our wage bill and bringing in hungry driven players from other league one / two clubs and returning to the transfer policy that got us up there in the first place.
We may be down here for years so we have to face reality – bye bye james you did your best but you should have taken up rugby union you would have been a revelation !18 June 2015 at 9:32 pm #142858You should have taken up rugby union you would have been a revelation !He would have been utter useless. You can’t isolate yourself from your team mates in Union or you lose possession. His constant running up his own arse would have done that.
Was never his biggest fan due to him being one footed and constantly forgetting he was one footed, but he was the only player who appeared to give a shit for most of last season.
I don’t care if we go down fighting and are beaten by the better side, but I hate when we roll over and die, so any player who appears to care will be a favourite of mine.
19 June 2015 at 2:24 am #142859Yip at times he looked like there was only him arsed last season. Seemed to burn out or maybe disgruntled after the January window.
Seemed funny him being the main threat down the flanks then getting moved upfront.19 June 2015 at 2:51 am #142860A left winger with no end product who became a striker, who surprise surprise had no end product.
