7 or 8 isn’t too many? Glad you don’t want a cull Donny lol.
Donny is being pretty reasonable there I think.
Here is a list of 9 players who are not good enough for this level and wouldn’t be missed.Naismith
Roberts
Cole
Walker
Connolly
Evans
Robinson
Bruce
FloresI could go on and add the likes of Byrne, Massey, Vaughan, Garner, and Windass, as well as the ones Cook doesn’t seem to want anyway, Lopes, McDonald and McManaman.
We might be a bit thin on the ground mind, if a cull of this level was made in January.
A truly awful mess of recruitment made all round there. A mess and one that was not supposed to ever happen again when Sharpe brought in some panel to sort out recruitment.
Now we are hearing whispers of us going for even more dross. Some defender who cannot get in Readings side.
What are you going to do about this mess Jim Royale? Bring in a couple more ringers from The Feathers Sunday League side with your Antony as first team coach?
A defender who can’t get in the reading side.??? If you are going to fekin moan do your homework first, otherwise it just makes you look silly.

Massey was probably our best attacking player pre-injury. And Vaughan is different to our other strikers in that he’s more direct and IMO worth keeping.I’d also disagree with Evans. Earlier in the season he looked a composed and decent midfielder.
Plus Naismith can put a cross in – something that none of our other wide players seem to be able to do.
I wouldn’t be overly fussed if any of the others left though.

It wasn’t a definitive list Standish, especially the second eight.
I agree with you about Naismith and Vaughan, although the former would not be playing if Jacobs was fit and we had a left back. BTW, Reece James can deliver a decent cross from the other side, but he isn’t an out and out wide player obviously.
You are right, Massey was decent prior to his injury, but that was for a few games only, and he wasn’t anything special last season in League One.
Evans needs to pull his finger out of his arse as far as I’m concerned as I’m sure he is better than the form his has shown for the last 12-15 games.8 January 2019 at 12:20 am #174923That’s almost a quarter of the window gone and not even a left back of some description signed. Not a whimper from the invisible board room.
Are we bothering this January? Tick tock.8 January 2019 at 12:45 am #174924Were like a dog under the table all soppy eyed waiting to see what’s left.
We’ll sign about 9 on deadline day and send Grigg, Vaughan, Kipre, Dunkley, Morsey on loan, nothing out the norm8 January 2019 at 12:47 am #174925Left back 90% signed, can also play center half so will be a good addition. Just formalities to sort out and Mr Blackett will be in our ranks.

What a journey!8 January 2019 at 2:26 am #174931Well according to this article on Blackett, he’s only slightly improved from a very dodgy two season introduction and it would appear that he needs a winger to bring the best out in him which isn’t going to happen at Wigan is it! I don’t hold too much hope with this one but hopefully will be proved wrong!

League position is worrying but considering our multi millionaire former chairman sold the club so the new owners could take us forward I would take that to mean we must be in a pretty decent position financially.
Why is it Reading want to off load the lad if he is so good? At the moment league position wide their need appears to be greater.8 January 2019 at 3:11 am #174937He’s been that bad for Reading he’s hardly missed a game for them. Work that one out!Did you read the article? Why do you think they are getting rid of him? If it is true what they say about him needing a winger to bring out the best in him then he is in for a shock! I’m happy to ‘Watch This Space’ for now! ;)

Has the club said anywhere that they want to get rid of him? Please put the link on here Donny or Phil, to the article that the club have said they want to get rid of him. His contract is up at the end of the season so they might listen to offers I would imagine if they have any sense. Ask Cooky or Royal if they want to get rid of Powell, you’ll only get one answer to that a resounding NO! If he doesn’t want to sign a contract, will they consider any decent offers for him this window, I would guess yes.
You are both putting Blackett down when you know Jack Shit about him. The lad has good pedigree having been schooled at OT, he must have summit about him and fits the role we are desperate to fill.
Now stop being so negative and give the lad a chance when and if he signs. From Matlock to ManU
