Well according to this article on Blackett, he’s only slightly improved from a very dodgy two season introduction and it would appear that he needs a winger to bring the best out in him which isn’t going to happen at Wigan is it! I don’t hold too much hope with this one but hopefully will be proved wrong!
Pray tell us who you hold hope for taking into consideration our league position and limited finances?
League position is worrying but considering our multi millionaire former chairman sold the club so the new owners could take us forward I would take that to mean we must be in a pretty decent position financially.
Why is it Reading want to off load the lad if he is so good? At the moment league position wide their need appears to be greater.
Maybe Reading have adequate cover in that position and need to off load to be able to strengthen other positions.
We on the other hand do not have a left back of our own, and the one we do have on loan is injured.
He played about a dozen PL games for the biggest club in the world after coming through their ranks and has played 75 games in total for Reading with 17 of those coming this season.
He is only 24, and a move back nearer home might just be what he needs. Surely he is worth taking a risk on.
8 January 2019 at 11:04 am #174940I suppose he is a left back that is one thing whether he will work out if we sign him thats another thing.
8 January 2019 at 11:34 am #174942I say give the lad a chance and get him signed !
He originally signed for Jaap Stamm at Reading and maybe he doesn’t relate to the new Reading Manager (José Manuel Martins Teixeira Gomes); so a move back up North suits him. He certainly has had more experience and first team game time at left back than our loanee, Antonee. At 6ft 2 inches he can also play in the centre. He’s only 24 and is not one of Cookies drinking partner, so that should please Donny !
Can’t please Wigan fans: if JR signed Bainsey on loan, they’d still moan
8 January 2019 at 12:05 pm #174943Left back 90% signed, can also play center half so will be a good addition. Just formalities to sort out and Mr Blackett will be in our ranks. And the left back is ?, Please enlighten us

He could be one of Cooks signings and that could worry anyone with his track record.
However everyone would be pleased if he signed Bainsey.8 January 2019 at 12:48 pm #174945Is that JR Ewing?

Not paid attention then?
8 January 2019 at 3:03 pm #174947I think Blackett will be a good buy. Expect him to play at LB in the main but allows us to go 5 at the back easy enough if need be.
8 January 2019 at 3:40 pm #174949Any rumours or news of someone who can actually put the ball in the back of the net?

There is a rumour that a couple of clubs are after Grigg, West Brom being one of them! I just hope the management team know what they are doing because from the outside it doesn’t look too good so far! ;)
