4 December 2012 at 2:10 am #97630The joke is every time we have a free kick in a good position, It ends up closer to our goal, :huh:Thougt we played well and they had a very lucky night which we will surely get at some point.Plenty of spirit and effort and but one of the worst decisions this season in my opinion and one that spoiled the game for the supporters who paid at the gate and the tv viewers alike.
.QPR is the big one and I’m sure the Latics players will be well fired up for that one now.4 December 2012 at 2:11 am #97631So u think we make the most of our free kicks?

4 December 2012 at 5:49 am #97651Well Alan Pardew thought it was a penalty so it must have been.
Back in the real World, it was an awful call.

My initial reaction one seeing it was no penalty.
When I saw the replay immediately after from the “behind the challenge” camera viewpoint I changed my mind coz it looked like Figueroa’s shoulder had made contact with Ba’s back/shoulder blade (which is a foul) & then finished the challenge off with a shove/hand off with his left arm into his midrift, so i can understand why it was given.
When i saw Gary Neville going over it at half time I changed my mind again & did the same about 3 times at full time depending on which angle they showed it at.
My problem with the ref giving it is that you have to be 100% certain to give such a big call & I’m not sure how he could have been. With that in mind to then send Figueroa off is even more debatable. To do that the ref has got to be certain, not that Figueroa is the last man but that he has denied a goal scoring opportunity so in turn he needed to be certain that Ba would have got to the ball before Al Habsi & I don’t think that from his positioning he could have been even remotely certain that would have happened
4 December 2012 at 1:28 pm #97656It WAS a penalty and a red card and kilLed our chances stone desd.Need to put it behind us quickly and get the three points on Saturday. Is it just me or has Kone got a terrible first touch ? So many times last night he lost control of simple balls to his feet when under minimal pressure .

So many times last night he lost control of simple balls to his feet when under minimal pressure .Football is a contact sport and that was never a pen. All this talk of he touched his shoulder etc so it was a pen annoys the life out of me. Like most footballers now he dove / cheated. He went down far too easily.
On the Kone point, said exactly the same last night. He’s right off the boil at the moment. Ali is getting some stick but Kone has missed a couple of sitters recently. We were pushing forward late on in the game and Kone was strolling forward
