£3.6 million ? nice bit er business if we can get over the reported 40k a week stumbling block. West Ham paid £10 million and the right age as well 27.
You live in hope16 July 2019 at 9:23 pm #179633Me too……but some posters on another thread say he’s shite……can’t please everyone!!….Clarke fan fetishers I reckon!

16 July 2019 at 10:35 pm #179636I havnt seen enough of him to make judgement so if he does sign only time will tell.
West Ham seen enough in him to stump up £10 Million. I know he had a rough time at Middlesbro but saying that, that was under Pullis so all can be forgiven.17 July 2019 at 12:51 am #179638Damned if we do, and damned if we don’t.
As usual.17 July 2019 at 2:43 am #179642Damned if we do, and damned if we don’t.
As usual.Ok , hes the best forward in the UK get him signed, happy now happy Clapper??.. ffs honestly. You read it how you want it to sound, weirdo

As usual.Couldnt agree more, George.
Our fans are very good at criticizing a player before we have even signed him!
Last night I took a lad to task on Facebook who started picking at Hugill, saying he has a big ego and this, that and the other. Implying that he was a bit of a big headed big time Charlie. On the contrary, I have read comments from former team mates and managers that have said he has a great attitude, is good to work with, and is a hard worker, keen to develop and improve. I have followed the lad for 3 or 4 seasons myself and although I had him down as being a ‘bit raw’ a season or two ago, his spell at West Ham, although not a success on the pitch, will have had him training alongside suchlikes as Arnautovic, Chicarito, and co. This can only have helped him further. It was a pity he had limited game time at Boro, but then again, if he had gone there and scored 20 goals, perhaps West Ham wouldnt be selling him, or Boro would be signing him.
I will be glad if/when he signs. This, along with our other new players is a show of intention I think. Leeds and West Brom were also linked with him, which says a lot.

You are beginning to be rather weird yourself now.
You have taken offence at something that was not aimed at you. My comment referred to the post (but not the poster) who said:
“some posters on another thread say he’s shite…”Unless of course you’re the poster concerned.
In words of one syllable for the hard of thinking – the point I was making is that some say he’s great and we should sign him and moan if we don’t; others say he’s rubbish and give huge negativity if we do sign him.
Instead of giving him a chance – which actually is EXACTLY what you said “I havnt seen enough of him to make judgement so if he does sign only time will tell.”

Welcome to the happy Clapper club garswood. I’ve been accused of being one of them also. It’s great!!
17 July 2019 at 3:18 pm #179650Just been reading up on him. He doesn’t seem to score many goals a season. He’ll fit right in here then.
17 July 2019 at 9:16 pm #179656Just hope it doesn’t cause any unrest in the dressing room if this comes off. I know he won’t get anywhere near the wages he is on at Wet Spam, but he will probably be on more than our better players like Jacobs, Morsy and Massey. I know Powell was on more than the other players, but everyone must have appreciated his talent, if not is game time was, worth it.

.Fair point. The only argument is that he has been at a Premier League club and been at a higher level than the majority, if not all of our lads have played at, even though he didnt do much up there. Just shows how messed up West Ham are paying him 40k a week. Ridiculous isnt it?
Not the players fault, if you are offered that, you take it. Can’t blame a player. But Jordan Hugill has to decide what is more important, getting his career back on track, or his bank balance looking good. Its not a long career, but whilst the money is good, do you want to look back and realise you were a bench warmer or a serial loan drifter?
18 July 2019 at 1:59 pm #179665Well I am generally reluctant to criticise players before they have played for us but I view Hugill as an overweight talentless donkey, based on the mishit goal he scored against us a couple of years back which bobbled in off someone else’s backside …. he wheeled away like he’d outdone Messi’s best ! … The rest of that game he lumbered about doing nowt …. he repeated the performance at our place but he did manage to fluff a penalty.
When West Ham paid all that fir him I was staggered…. but not staggered that he subsequently achieved ball all.
If he signs and comes good fair play to him but I won’t be holding my breath
18 July 2019 at 2:44 pm #179666If things don’t work out for him he could become a wrestler.

I remember the goal you are on about, in the Friday night 1 nil defeat at Deepdale.
I think thats just how he celebrates, arms outstretched. Wouldnt mind seeing him like that in our strip! If he comes here and looks a bit lumbering, as long as he gets the ball in the net, it doesnt bother me. Id rather see us sign him, than Clarke.
And are we after signing Lowe as well? If we are, well I see that as a magnificent show of intent to progress and improve on last season. Hugill 9 and Lowe 7 would be two great signings I think. It would see a fee outlay of around 7 million, and with Jedi, that would be near 10 million.
I think we would have to tip our hat to Darren Royle and the owners if this is the case, as they would be backing Paul Cook considerably.
