 That’s 4 points he’s cost us in penalty misses now, I still wouldn’t swop him though, this season he makes us tick, chin up Jordi back of the net the next one :)

He conceded possession badly a couple of times in the closing minutes as well by bottling a couple of tackles.
I wonder if he will take the next one??
29 March 2014 at 9:33 pm #129113Last minute pen in the semi to win it he’ll smash it in
29 March 2014 at 9:58 pm #129114Whilst it is disappointing not to score a penalty, especially that late on, this is exactly the type of game we were loosing under Coyle.
Good set of results otherwise, Ips/Forest drawing, Reading & QPR likewise.
Automatic promotion is all but gone, but was always going to be a long shot. 8 games to go, 5 at home….only ourselves to blame if we don’t nail down a play off spot. I still say if we get in the play offs we will win it…big match experience, big match players….Jordi won’t miss a penalty when it really matters :cheer:
29 March 2014 at 10:14 pm #129115Even with a last minute penalty miss in still happy with a point. I don’t think we really deserved anything today. We looked tired and were outfought in midfield. We should have changed to 3-4-3 earlier and how Jean B wasn’t substituted is beyond me.
Still onwards and upwards. Bring on Leicester!
29 March 2014 at 11:11 pm #129116A very disappointing performance from what appeared a reasonable selection. For most of the game, Latics looked second best to Bolton.
The defence was poor, both individually and collectively. Jutkiewicz terrified them. They all made rash decisions and could have been punished more heavily.
Midfield held the ball well but couldn’t provide any service for Fortune or McClean.
The hero was Al Habsi, who made save after vital save. McManaman is returning to his best and brought a threat in the second half.
Powell added to it for the last twenty minutes, and Wigan finally looked capable of scoring. The late goal and the penalty award came as no surprise, but the miss did.
29 March 2014 at 11:28 pm #129117I would take a point all day playing like that away from home
29 March 2014 at 11:41 pm #129119Yes, but I’d rather not see them play like that.
They’ll have to play much better to worry Arsenal or make progress in the play offs.
Still, McManaman and Powell showed their class in the second half.
29 March 2014 at 11:45 pm #129120Don’t think he should be first choice pen taker from now. His run up is too slow and predictable, I’m not confident when he steps up.
29 March 2014 at 11:53 pm #129121The whole team looked second best until the last 10 15 mins playing that bad away from home a point is a bonus just glad we didn’t lose to them
30 March 2014 at 12:58 am #129124Come back Shaun Maloney we need a new penalty taker :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
30 March 2014 at 2:12 am #129125At QPR on Tuesday he came on and added composure straight away, alright another result that could have been better, but the whole performance was below par .

He missed the Yeovil pen but we were 3 2 up after 95 mins and just a corner to defend can’t blame him for that. Today it was a good save, fair play to the keeper
