I am not one for changing managers – I never wanted Caldwell to be sacked I firmly believe he was starting to turn it around and we would have been ok.

I also believe the club has made a big mistake with Joyce. I don’t like him putting the cones out before the game, him wearing shorts, seemingly side-lining all the coaching staff, making Barrow sit in the dug out when he used to do an effective job in the media gantry sending down messages to the bench. I don’t like him referring to one of our players as “Powelly”. I don’t like the fact that he comes across as an idiot!

I guess I don’t seem to like his amateur approach. Most of all I don’t like the negative almost defeatist attitude to games.

A mistake has been made in this appointment and while it will look bad on the club I believe the mistake needs to be rectified ASAP. Even if that means giving the job to Barrow until the end of the season.

I know where you’re coming from.

Yootha does come across as still being a reserve coach away from the spotlight, rather than the manager in the front line.

A manager needs to be at times detached from the players; they should look up to their manager not see him as one of the lads. I can’t imagine Mourinho putting out the cones before the game!

Agree a manager should wear a suit. Wearing shorts looks ridiculous especially in winter. Surprised Dave Snr hasn’t had a word with him :S

Tomorrow won’t do Yootha any real favours as we should win…if we were not to win it would be disaster for him. How we do against Derby & Huddersfield will be much more relevant.

Now come on!, we were in a mess before Joyce came in, fair play to him trying something different as in this league, having Barrow in the media gantry, Caldwell wearing nice pants and jumper was simply not working, unless I’m missing something.

We could have easily lost faith in Caldwell before he found the right formula last season, lets give WJ a window and then judge him.

agreed, the last man in shorts nearly wrecked the club.

Apart from looking ridiculous, it shows up the mindset of an ex player who would rather still be one of the lads.

Being a successful manager requires a different mindset…plenty of average or very limited players became top managers (SAF being the prime example); not many top players have become top managers.

Who was that? If that was Coyle, well he left the club in a far better state than we are in at the moment Bob.

Club in a S***PILE…..Pants player recruitment in summer + huge gamble on a youth team coach = relegation.3 1/2 deal beggars belief. There goes any transfer budget if Sharpe pulls the trigger.Unless we can pull some dosh out of thin air then I think we are lumbered with him.Another managerial appointment balls up.

I really think we are over reacting a bit. Things aren’t going well at the moment, but they weren’t going well before Joyce came. On the plus side we still have time to sort this mess out.

It’s the players who are not quite good enough, and that is why Caldwell was sacked in the first place, because they were his players.

Joyce inherited this squad of players who apart from a few are not good enough for this league. He has tried most of them now, in various formations and positions and to be fair he has got them playing better recently, certainly better than anything we saw earlier in the season.

He should know were the problem is now and will hopefully be given time and a bit of help in the transfer window to turn this around.

                  .

Not sure how you come to this conclusion we have just lost to easily the worst side in the league. Caldwell was sacked after narrowly losing to Brighton (now top) and just off a run of one defeat in five.

Results and performance have gone rapidly downhill under Joyce.

Also if you look at the highlights Rotherham scored three right flukey goals. Another day none of them would have gone in. We also had Ronald and Diesel missing in midfield.
                    Watch out Derby and Huddersfield.

I stood by Caldwell and his decisions in the summer because you have to trust a guy who sees the said players every day above us fans and our opinions, but some of them seem pretty idiotic about now but there is nothing we can do until the window.

I think if a new Manager comes in and you see a vast improvement then you can blame the previous boss, but if things carry on then surely it’s the players!!!

Good logical way of looking at things Egg. It’s just such a shame after the season two years ago when we were relegated you would have thought somewhere someone would have learned a lesson.
That season we had Riera, Delort, Forshaw, McClean, McManamen,Maloney, McArthur and more and they hadn’t enough to keep us up so why would our fancy scouting and recruitment department (set up after that last disaster) think what happened from the end of May 2016 would be enough for this season??

Serious question, how many players and how much did Caldwell spend while I charge ?, I’d be interested to know if this was one of the main factors why we showed him the door.
We had a habit of buying players then loaning them out then, bring loan players in ?. I think there’s more than meets the eye as to why Caldwell got the chop

There is an hell of a lot that goes on in football clubs that we don’t know or hear about.
