Hows about if Diame had a knock his country Senagal might have not want him to play and moses could not be 100% fit and had it not been an assault on Ball boy he wouldn’t have come on till later

The chances are both Moses and Diame will be gone by the end of the month !

I was discussing team selections with Paul Jewell when he did the questions and answers dinner at Haigh hall the other year. He said to me that supporters are great at picking the team after the match and I knew were he was coming from.
The team put out in the first half tonight played really well, created quite a few decent chances, knocked it around OK and got into Sunderland’s face winning more second balls than they lost.

A bit of luck and we could have been saying what a great tactical master stroke by Bobby playing Crusat and Watson. Crusat setting up 2 or 3 good chances and Watson hitting the inside of the post when he should have tucked it away.
What happened in the second half is typical of a team especially us when chasing the game.
The biggest mistake that bobby made tonight was taking Stam off when he did. Ronnie was linking up well down the right and got some superb crosses in. The man that should have gone off was McCarthy. He did a lot of huffing and puffing, kept Cattermole quiet till he was subbed, but did nothing going forward.

Indeed your right JR the first half the threat was from both flanks with Stam and Crusat causing problems for their defence soon as they both went off the threats were non existant

Big pike in Scotsmans are almost non existant

Robertos team choices both pre game and during the game were truely shocking tonight.

We don’t have the biggest squad to choose from, but we need to play the best available players. Diame and Moses not starting was stupidity against a Sunderland team who only played a couple of days ago.

Then when we continually prove all through the first half that we weren’t going to play through Sunderlands ten man defence he finally realised we had to change something and seemed to do something right by bringing on Sammon and going a bit more direct…..what does he do then…..brings off one of the best crossers of the ball we have in Stam.

There’s not enough goals in our team as it is without crazy decisions like that from the dug out.

We are so easy to play against at home….all the opposition have to do is let us play all the fancy passing around we want in the first two thirds of the pitch, whilst they get enough back to put a few in the final third….they know we’ll fook up somewhere along the lines and they can break in numbers and all they have to do is score one goal and it’s pretty much good night Vienna…

We need to be able to vary our play much more to break down defenses in areas that matter…..

We can’t afford anymore games like tonight against very beatable teams otherwise it’s down we go.

After the last 8 games things seemed to be turning around and bad results will happen to teams in our situation, and I am sure Bob had his reasons for his team selection and from what I have been told, if we had taken our chances in the first half then it could have been different.

We need more cover at the back.

Players will go this month no doubt, just be nice to sign them now and let them bed in. But Martinez will take 6 months to beat them into shape.

And bringing MoMo on with 4 minutes plus stoppage time while loosing 4-1??? I suggest they were both fit and Bob dropped a bollock.

To be fair, Diame was waiting to come on from the 79th minute, but Bob doesn’t like to make his subs quickly, hence he was milling about till the 86th minute, not that coming on with 11 minutes left would have been a masterstroke.

I thought McManaman was going to come back as the new shining light?

Watson and Crusat both played well so I dont see the problem….

One simple explanation for the player rotation could be the busy christmas period??? Or is that beyond the realm of some of the football retarded folk on here?

GOMEZ IS ABSOLUTELT RUBBISH made a point of watching him last night. 1 tackle in the whole game Was trotting along the side of the Sunderland players and if I say trotting that was an exageration. Also EVERYONE can see that Jones is to slow to play in that postion, as is proved every game, so why does this clown keep playing him there???? I’m afraid i’ve got to the point, after watching them from the non league days, that although I’ve got a season ticket I’m seriously thinking of not going again, unless there are some drastic changes in the management i.e. MARTINEZ or his so called “Attractive style of football” :(
