Think the best way to describe it would be solid, if not spectacular.

Defence bar its one usual lapse was solid.

Crainey may not be the best left back in the world but he is a left back unlike the other square pegs we have tried there. Just needs to be more positive going forward. Although wouldn’t mind seeing Beau & Mclean combine there.

Watsons open play very good, his set pieces very bad!

Special mention for McCann, thought that was his best game by far for us (Some may say thats not hard!)

      Powell – MOM

Gomez didn’t do himself any favours again with the boo boys and as for Holt (Yah I know hes not fully fit yet!)

Roger will be gone in January, all those changes and still didn’t get a kick.

All in all Solid, if not spectacular!

Someone needs to pull Ben Watson to one side and tell him he is shit at free kicks !

There was one point where Jean was running down the left and wanted to hit it in the box for Holt to run on to.

Holt looked like he was running in quick sand but I hope that is more about not being fully fit rather than his legs giving way under his large tyre slinging frame at this time in his career.

What was Bennett doing for their goal? He was either trying to play him offside or I want to see his Williamhill account!

Gomez didn’t do himself any favours but Coyle doesn’t do him any favours pushing him out further right. You could tell his head dropped after he missed that chance in the box.

Fortune when coming on gave the front line much more mobility and sadly fluffed a fairly decent chance to put us ahead.

I thought the performance was so so and certainly not spectacular!

For all of their “European pedigree” I don’t think they looked all that good last night and we could and maybe should have done that little bit more to take all three points.

All in all though we are still in with a great chance of qualifying which would be a fantastic achievement.

            It’s nonsense.

Ben Watson in last night’s programme answered the question ‘What shampoo does Jordi Gomez use’ by saying he was going grey and thinning on top.

It’ a bit of banter that people have construed the wrong way.

Wigan are obviously unhappy in midfield – and it’s worrying if they have started criticizing one another in public.

I did think that Wigan – with the notable exception of Crainey – kept the ball on the ground and tried to play through midfield against Kazan. There were individual errors but they were playing a team far superior to most Championship teams – even though their best player was injured.

On Saturday, we started with two wingers, McClean and McManaman, but no forwards. We finished with two wingers and two forwards. At least, we would have if McClean hadn’t been sent off.

Last night, we started with a centre forward and a different winger (Beausejour). Coyle then took off the centre forward, brought on a different type of forward, Fortune, and reverted to the two wingers McClean and McManaman.

Perhaps Gomez is as puzzled as I am.

Gomez is so frustrating it beggars belief. Carson rolled him a ball for a quick counter and he was that slow he ended up passing it backwards with the Rubin defence back and set. He seems so reluctant to go forward.

              Thought McCann was pretty solid.

For all of the CB’s we have signed I still think Caldwell and Ramis could be a cut above them all!

I know Ramis is training now does anyone know when the rock that is Caldwell is expected to train?

All I know is Gomez is head and shoulders above every one of our other midfielders when on form.

That just isn’t often enough for my liking.
